Who is a good dealer for Penske shocks?

Looking for Penske remote canister shocks for my 69 Camaro. Who is a good dealer out there? I think its the 8300 series I'm looking for.

whats the service cycle on those?

On a few cars around here they'd be guaranteed maintenance free.

The big thing (for me at least) is that RideTech is focused on our market and right now they are probably the most prevelant shock amongst our bunch. Plus, when you call them and explain your application, they know what you are talking about. Another big one for me (for every part I use now) is customer service which they do a very good job with.

Other guys obviously have success with the other brands you mentioned but I don't think that the RTs can be beat for the price. I've got four first gens right now - two "done" and two under construction - and all of them will be equipped with the RideTech shocks - either single or triple adjustables. I want to try their select series on my '68 because I like the idea of two predesigned valve options (but I can't speak to their performance right now).

If you want to look at other manufacturers - and I don't have personal experience with many of them - my only advice it to pick one that is sold by someone with personal experience with our style of cars and which is backed by a professional sales/tech group.

I started writing a response to this and it's up to a page and a half in word, single spaced and I'm not half done.
So I thought I better ask a few questions about your car:
What is the intended purpose? Mostly street? Mostly track?
What suspension do you have now?
What's the goal for vehicle weight?
Many others, but this will get the conversation started.

Then ask what you are looking for:
Why did you choose Penske?

Would you like to know what I feel is the best track shock? Best street shock?

I don't pretend to know everything there is to know about shocks, but it has been my life for a number of years so maybe I can help.

Mario, you have DSE suspension, correct? I would use JRi if I were you. That is what all of DSE's products have shipped with for the last couple years and they work great.

I upgraded from my old Afcos and partly chose JRi to "keep things in the family" and honor DSE, but also because of the performance offered. I thought about RideTech, but I've heard you don't want to get on Stacy's bad side. :lol:

You're right, basic double or triple adjustables aren't enough for his build. He needs something super trick, like this:

If you know what you want another option for Penske shocks is RE suspension in NC. They deal mainly with race teams but will also sell to car enthusiasts and I found their prices to be very good. If you can answer their questions they can help you with shock set up options too. They have lots of other Penske accessory parts in stock too like shock eyelet extensions, etc. depending on what you need for your set-up.

I've bought Hyperco springs from them a few weeks ago so for good customer service. Would buy from them again.

If you call JRI & tell them they are for a DSE suspension.. they will refer you to call DSE to buy the shocks from them.. They are firm on this!

For your show queen .. I would just do single adjustables with the DSE valving.. they work great!
