1967 Chevelle "Project ''Pay the Man''

Well I finally have done it, I've decided to let a shop build me a classic. This is much different then anything I've ever done. But I like the idea of think it up and "Pay the Man" Approach. Enough talking on with the build!

Vince With "'Mean Street performance" will be building this beast!

Playing with some wheels and trying to get the ride height set. We also took the Qtr panel and stretched it too fit 325 wheels!

I also bought the Gto seats. My plan is to have my interior guy remove the headrest and do some mods to make the seats fit the way I like!

I also picked up some brakes for the chevelle.....

Every Build has to have that one car that pushes you to build something bad!

For me this is that car!!!!

You're in very good hands.

Zoomin 02-24-2014 09:13 PM

325 wheels translates to what - 12"?

Are you going to tub it also?

I can see why the black Chevelle inspired you, it looks mean as hell.

Haaaa, and I was hopin the Firebird would shake things up again. Good to see you today!!

Some boring metal work....rust repair and treating.

Lower cowl tulip was badly rusted. I trimmed out as much as the rust that I could then reconstructed the missing parts with cold rolled 16 ga.

Before the outer cowl section gets welded in I coated the exposed metal in the lower area with POR15 and weld through primer at the weld areas.

Yelcamino 02-26-2014 05:34 AM

Nice work! Looks like you guys are building a solid foundation for a bad azz Chevelle!

I wouldn't quite say front of the shop...I say you were in the top of the starting grid. :underchair:

tulip rust damage repair.

made two filller pieces from 18 ga, bend here, trim here, cut there then welded in,primed and ready for black base paint then seam sealer.

n77nxc 05-15-2014 01:37 PM

Nice work Vince!

thanks guys....one of the reasons why this project sat idle for so long... the package tray damage. As soon as I sold the car...it was released by AMD. My luck.

Before and cut out and trial fit. fits pretty good.

now that the center is where it needs to be its on to the sides. Starting with the tubs and quarter panel fitting.

The outer wheel houses and trunk filler were pushed out from stock. 1 3/4" at its widest spot. Then I will modify the quarter panel to fit. Here you can see how much more room it opened up.
I decided not to flare the rocker. I think it will be enough to fit the 315 easily.
