Selling my '71 Pro-Touring Camaro

Item Location (City/State): Austin/Tx

Price:$169900.00

Description: 1971 Camaro Pro- Touring

Guys, I'm selling my '71 Pro-Tour Camaro. Some of you have seen the build thread on this car last year. It has 8 miles on it. I just drove it down the street about a week ago for a rolling shot for Camaro Performers. In short, it had everything in the DSE catalog underneath of it.

Eric@Griffith Metal Shaping built the car. He is a craftsman. He had over 2000 hrs in the build. The whole car was completely disassembled, blasted then reassembled. Everything was gapped and pinned before any body work was done. The bumpers were moved in about 1/2". The body work and paintwork was done by Custom Car Crafters. The body is lazer straight. Everything that was not painted silver has been painted hot rod black, including all inner fenders, inner doors ect.

LS7 dry sump motor, 6 speed, Stainless headers, full stainless custom exhaust, Aluminum radiator w/ dual spa fans, Fikse wheels, big Baer 6 piston Brakes front& rear, Super 100 series narrowed fuel tank, Recaro seats, Custom roll bar, front chassis stiffener, dynamat, vintage air/ heat, custom stereo, custom front kick panels with separates, custom subwoofer box, power windows, DSE lights, wipers, deep tubs, Quadralink, full front subframe, subframe connectors, led lights, Autometer gauges w/led lights, remote battery & battery tender.

I'm sure there is more that I have forgotten, but you get the idea of what has gone into this car. I have over $215k in it, as you can see. I don't drive it. I am going in another direction, so that's why I'm selling it. Weld, Rodger and Rob have personally seen this car and can vouch for it's build quality. If someone want's a turn key, "new car", this is it. Kyle said he could build one like this for about $250k and about a 2 year wait. It is on DSE website for sale also. I want someone to enjoy it.

Hot damn that is nice. I've seen it in person too. Stunning.

NOPANTS68 03-06-2014 01:49 PM

Geez what's not to like. LS7, 6 gear, Fikse wheels etc etc. Why buy a used F430 when you could have that? GLWS man.

Ketzer 03-06-2014 05:17 PM

I'm afraid to ask what "other direction" you're going in?!? If you're getting away from cars like this, it can't be good... maybe a TAs only stable?

Yes, that's part of it secondly, I am spending a lot of time on the track and I want another race car.

Thanks for the props guys, now someone buy it!:)

214Chevy 03-06-2014 07:57 PM

Uhhhh....I just had very bad thoughts of how I could get $170k really quick and it wasn't good. :snapout: This car is beautiful. GLWS!

I love this car! Wish I had the funds! SW, please dont get too far away from this kind of stuff- I think I speak for alot of us on this board- we all love seeing your builds. Whatever you have in mind for your new direction I know that it will be top shelf and high quality as always.

No worries Jay, my heart is still in these cars. I love my T/As and they are not going anywhere. To be quite honest, the Camaro is too nice for me to drive, I just can't get over that. I tried for a year to drive it, but I just loved looking at it. I think I'm just to emotional about it, crazy I know..

A couple of track days, brake dust on the wheels, rubber stuck to the paint, and a few chips will fix that problem. :D My wife saw this beauty on DSE's site for sale and asked if she sold her 69 could we buy it, I told her she couldn't afford it ( I guessed $175K), so I guess I have to show her the ad and break her heart. GLWS

Considering what's in the stable, that statement speaks volumes.

I got to see this car in person this week as well as more work by Eric Griffith. This car is fantastic. Someone is going to get a bargain here!

GregWeld 04-04-2014 11:22 AM

Since my daughter Adrienne is moving to Austin in May --- I think SW should just keep it for her to drive.

It's probably way faster than the TT Ferrari anyway.

I don't think she will have an issue choosing something for a garage warming present at his place DAD! If I were him, I wouldn't know what the hell to drive. In fact, I don't know if I would ever not be driving!

coachwinbush 04-05-2014 05:01 AM

Thanks for all the props guys. I have had a lot of interest in it, a lot of interesting trade offers too. I just want to sell it and start another project. I will take a nice blk or red '70 Chevelle on trade:)

The color is 2008 Corvette Machine Silver.

Greg, Adrienne is welcome to drive it since her dad has great credit with me:)

Just do it like the government does, write a recipt that the pads were $100k and the master cylinder was $80k and hide the car

CamaroMike 05-13-2014 10:45 AM

BTW if you ever decide you want to trade this beauty for '69 camaro worth a quarter of your car let me know! Wishful thinking over here

GregWeld 05-15-2014 08:38 AM

SW --- Since you really haven't driven the car more than just a very few miles --- is it all "sorted out" as far as tuning etc??

waynieZ 05-15-2014 10:01 AM
