Thanks Mark

If your attention wanders, the Camaro will wander too--into the other lane, but if you stay on point, the Z/28 is obedient and responsive, like a big dog who’s well-trained…unless there’s a squirrel.

..and Michael Harleys Review on Autoblog http://www.autoblog.com/2014/03/24/2...t-drive-video/ Last chapter some guy say."Nobody asked me to make it cheap; they asked me to make it fast."

Damn I want one.

CamaroMike 03-24-2014 01:07 PM

Awesome, they tested them out right here in birmingham!

Damn True 03-24-2014 01:16 PM

Very cool. Now it's time to take it racing.

Plenty of time to get one prepped for the 25hrs of Thunderhill.

rchaskin 03-24-2014 06:08 PM

Awesome!!

On a side note....Go Finch!!

brownz 03-24-2014 06:33 PM

Thanks for sharing Mark.

I had the tough job of being the test driver for Super Chevy, so got to spend a considerable amount of seat time out on the track in both my car as well as the new Z28.

I can say without a doubt that I am a converted 5th gen lover due to the incredible job Mark and his team did with this car. This car can take an average driver and make them feel like they are ready to sign onto an F1 team. The car keeps you in control allowing you to focus on the thrill ride in front of you. It will break so deep that your mind tells you every lap you will not make it out of the turn, yet you do with ease.

Every press release reads the same way but are just words and pictures. If you ever get a chance to jump behind the wheel take it. You will never look at a 5th gen the same again.

TimeWarpF100 03-25-2014 08:06 AM

Simply Amazing car Mark! Big props to the entire Engineering Team.

I am a True Ford guy but I think FoMoCo has a long long way to even equal the new Z-28 much less beat it.

Its been 31yrs since my last new Camaro and if I had the $$ today I would have a new Z-28 in Red in my garage.

preston 03-25-2014 11:13 AM

What amazes me is the kind of performance they can get despite the curb weight.

LS7 Z/28 03-25-2014 11:49 AM

Mark will the Z/28's from the test be crushed or what will happen to them? I sure hope not.

Moose 03-25-2014 02:01 PM

so I'm reading 75k.. Will it really be that or, huge dealer mark up?

Been thinking about a Z06, for the past few years, but may go this route.

jlwdvm 03-25-2014 04:55 PM

If GM only makes 1500ish...my money is on a sizable ADM similar to what Ford dealers were asking when the Boss and GT500 hit the market...only worse!

CamaroMike 03-26-2014 05:16 AM

Just got on the chevy site to "order" a z/28, they are 75k without a/c. The only option I saw was a/c and body color! Thats how it should be.

Stielow 03-26-2014 08:40 AM

Another good one

Anyone know what the C7 Z06 base MSRP will be? If it comes in a little over the Z28 I think I'd rather own that. This new Z is awesome though!

I only saw "speculation" estimates of $100k. Still, bang for the buck, awesome.

johnzSS 03-26-2014 05:35 PM

This car is getting mixed emotions on the web. I personally think the guys at GM nailed it! Its beautiful, light, fast, and can stop on a dime - whats not to love? The price tag? I guess its not for those with empty pockets and bank accounts.

Great job GM!

John

The 1LE 's balance and feedback really impressed me and his comment on it's handling traits confirmed my impressions.......the new Z/28 must be an over the top driving experience!

glassman 03-26-2014 06:56 PM

I hear ya Siegster!!! I take what Finch said to heart, i think, when it comes to driving, he knows what hes talking about.
Plus watch that youtube vid of them running the Nurburgring, that stuff is awesome!!!

Great job Mark and your team!

I think I can get 2 discounts to give out. The issue is the dealer. They get an allocation and many will mark it up. All the 2014 are sold so you are looking for a 2015 if you want one.

Mark

Watching your input or lack of speaks volumes, the car's track manners appear quite casual considering you posted a 1:37 lap. As for the braking force....that's something I'd like to experience in person.....very impressive!

camcojb 03-27-2014 07:04 AM

I've been in the passenger seat with you driving, lots of fun!! :faint: :drive::brix::dance::hail::lol:
