No fenders, more of a highboy than anything else but lots of trick mods like a '32 grille chopped 5" with '34 sides and a real rake built into it.
Custom Duval-style windshield,heated seats,crate 302 with alloy heads and a hotter cam and a 8" rear.

Car is completely painted/polished/plated underneath, just needed painting:

Previous owner/builder driving it here:

I had the windshield glass tinted which looks real sharp and should look killer against the gloss black paint, will post up completed pictures once it's all done and cleaned up.

GregWeld 07-10-2014 01:40 PM

There ya go! A real hot rod!

Yipppppeeeeeeeeeee

Ricochet 07-10-2014 03:09 PM

Nice!! Digging the steering wheel! And look - it even has a cup holder for Greg!

NOPANTS68 07-10-2014 03:43 PM

That DuVall looks killer. It's pinched on the sides which fixes that kinda odd look where the glass flares out. I really like that look. Great car.

That's a Joes Racing steering wheel, the original wheel is from a '27 Chrysler and was just to big for me to be comfortable, apparently the owner originally built the car around the wheel:

waynieZ 07-11-2014 09:26 PM

Very Nice !

CURVES 07-11-2014 10:29 PM

That thing is awesome!

I'm almost old enough for my street rod phase, I can't wait. :excited:

buickfunnycar.com 07-12-2014 09:29 AM

Bad picture but you get the idea...laser straight and a mile deep!
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps31b38939.jpg

Driving her home today, can't wait...then my nightmare begins!:hairpullout:

buickfunnycar.com 07-16-2014 06:40 PM

Finally she's done...!

Well guys the car is done and back home in my garage and I truly couldn't be more pleased, they did a fantastic job and the final bill (which I haven't even paid yet, lol) came in at the very bottom of the estimate...a full thousand dollars less than I expected...so I am a very happy camper tonight and have already hit the tequila to celebrate!

So without further ado,I present the "Kendall Roadster" in her black tuxedo and Don...I hope you're happy with what we've done with your little roadster:
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...psb57845ce.jpg

I really like the tint on the windshield:

What appears to be orange peel around the top of the rear tire in this picture is actually just a reflection of the building:

Now this is what I'm talking about...laser-straight and a mile deep:

I heard this on XM Satellite while driving to Sun Valley today. Frankly -- I'm surprised many of these guys (meaning our heroes) made it as long as they have given the rock and roll days of yore...

Sad...

You're right there Greg,Johnny led a hard life, started drinking and smoking at age 15 plus all the drugs...but he was one hell of a bluesman, perhaps the best of all time in my book.

Ron in SoCal 07-18-2014 11:18 AM

Thanks...taking her to Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley this Thursday for a tribute to the original owner/builder Don Kendall who passed suddenly recently, this car was his pride and joy and should be the center of attention...looking forward to a great evening of memories.
