Thank you all for your replies. Your right I have been a member since 2012. I would always look at other builds getting ideas for mine. This is the first car I have built. The color is GM laser blue metallic. I have some of the build pics on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BG4_TMhkFmo

Very cool and slick
Beautiful color, as everyone has mentioned. Looks like a really nice ride. Good blend of various parts to make a cohesive project. Tail lamps l think are Marquez? How long di the build take? Any other ideas that you incorporated into your build we should know about?
I am a big fan of how the '69 RS looks. In my admittedly biased opinion the '68 and '67 headlamp covers lack the cool essence of the headlamp covers of the '69. Any future plans yet, or are you just enjoying your ride for the moment? Thanks for sharing, Rodhttps://lateral-g.net/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif |

So I started right away with the tear down. I replaced the floors first. It was amazing the how much bondo was in this thing.

Here is the original color rallye green. I was on the fence up until the week before it got painted green or blue.

At first I was just going to patch the quarters, but I thought full quarters would be better.

Then it was like Christmas in June. Then I went to look a rear end. The guy told me he had a 8.2 10 bolt for $50, I just need a rear so I could move the car. When I got it home I realized it was no 8.2 its a 8.5

Now since I found out I had an 8.5 I would use it. Before I got this rear end my daily driver a 04 silverado's rear came apart. I put an eaton posi in it, but I didn't like in the truck. So found out that eaton posi will fit in a 8.5 if you change the carrier bearings and its 30 spline.

I had to take a big hammer to the trans tunnel to get this thing to fit

This is about 2 years into the build. It was fun back then.

I don't have a rotisserie, it would have made it easier. I just don't have the room.

:welder:
Wow... That looks like quite a project that you have had going on in your home shop. It looks great so far. The way you posted with latest pictures and then you worked backwards... Quite an accomplishment... Keep up the updates..... :flag2: |

I actually got something done on the car and have new pictures. I ordered a cold air intake put it on and hated it. So I took it apart and used most of the stock GTO stuff. One thing it put the MAF way to close to the throttle body. I also put some of the exhuast on. I need to get tail pipes on, but I can't find anyone willing to touch it. One guy told me he would try, but it would be like $4000 and look like sh#@.
