I thought the 2LB had a 454 (later used in AG)

And yes those scenes and the one where Milner pulls up to the pumps uncorked are one of my favorites.

From everything I've read, the stunt 55 had the 454 and the Race 55 had a 427 w/ alum heads..The 55 camera car was the one used in AG

American Graffiti is with out a doubt my favorite movie of all time. So many iconic scenes in that movie. Cars, blonds and Wolfman Jack!

Twoblackmarks... 07-23-2014 05:46 AM

It is probably one of the greatest Movies ever, in my opinion, and it is for everyone to see also, you dont have to be a "car guy" to enjoy it.

Two Lane Blacktop on the other hand, it probably helps to like cars.. Or 55`Shoeboxes especially.. On the end of the Movie it kind of lightens up and gets better though, but then it ends!!

And the ending is one of my favorite endings of all time, the slow-mo With El-Camino revving in the background.. And on the other hand it is a really irritating end.. HeHe.. :D

Twoblackmarks... 07-23-2014 05:52 AM

And I Guess Two Lane Blactop is probably the only Movie they buy a Quadrajet gasket/overhaul set in....

Interesting. These guys say a different story on their opening page...

http://twolaneblacktop.yuku.com/

I had read somewhere else the camera car had a small block in it. Not trying to argue, I just want to get the right info so I'm not repeating the wrong info :)

Even if the above site is wrong about the engines, if you scroll through the forums they have a lot of cool pics from the movie. It's worth checking out

No worries. I messed up. I ment... "on camera car".. Also the "stunt car" was used in AG. The "camera car"(the one with rigging) was not..

"there were 3 cars built for the movie, a camera car, an on camera car & a stunt car with a full cage, the on camera car was also repainted & used in american graffitti".
