Need wheels for 65 Mustang

I am looking for some 18's for a 65 Mustang. Nothing too pricey. One piece will work. Just some cruiser wheels

Any ideas? Does anyone happen to know the backspacing I should get by the way? Stock suspension for now but will lower in the future.

can't go wrong with American Racing TTII's

DBasher 07-31-2014 12:04 AM

Vintage wheel works offer 18's in some of the wheels and they look really nice, right around $400 for the 18's.

TTII's always look good, the centers of mine are painted a nice gun metal to break up the wheel a bit.

Tons of styles, just depends on the look you're going for. I don't think they look too good but lots of people are running the newer mustang 17's and 18's with spacers. Cheap cheap and all over the local Craigslist.

John not sure if they will have BS you need but for a mesh wheel TSW makes some decent wheels and priced good?? WWW.tsw.com lots of vendors all over eBay and the net.

A couple from their web site

Hi, it's Chris from Showwheels in Anaheim.
We have a 1 piece wheel machined to order.
For a lowered 65 in 18" we use 7s on the front at 4.5" BS to avoid tires touching the fenders when cornering and 4.75" BS on 8" wide rears to tuck under.
Contact me any time, thank you, Chris 714-524-3100 www.showwheelsusa.com www.kwcforged.com

It has a 349 stroker with a 70mm turbo and P3 fuel injection. Im getting ready to put 13"/12" brakes on it and some other things before SEMA.

DBasher 10-01-2014 11:30 PM

Sounds like fun! I don't see too many orange early mustangs, looks good.

It took a lot to do it. the car was Moonlight blue with white pear stripes, after the first magazine came out, the car was copied a few times. So I figured who's ballsy enough to do orange???After I saw it without the stripes, I was :brix:

But it grew on me.

DBasher 11-12-2014 01:24 PM

I know what you mean about :brix: When we painted our Studebaker bright azz yellow it was the same feeling. Some black scallops and blacking out around the windows was just enough to calm it down.

I think it looks great and with all the other mods you've done it's got to be a blast to drive!

Dan

Its a lot of fun to drive............but my VW is more fun. Less to worry about less power to get into trouble.:D
