The ultimate RS detail teaser thread.

In the crunch to get various vehicles together for the upcoming SEMA show, we wanted to put together a thread of pics previewing some of the small details that go into the cars we are building for the show and a bunch of teasers for the upcoming vehicles we have not revealed yet...

We will kick off with 2 for today!

not even close. they have been posting detail teaser pics of the chevelle on instagram. I can't wait to see it. Since the 70 camaro that stalled is not on their website anymore I wonder if this is it being finished?

That part is WAY to big for a taillight housing. I'd say 18" plus round billet there. Looks like you guys didn't get the chip auger option

I think I see the chip auger in the pic buried in chips.

I'm going to guess it might be the baddest roll cage in the world in a second gen Camaro.

Matt on second thought I think you might be right. Good eye! The only thing is I think you might have gone short on your estimation........ "Baddest Roll Cage In The UNIVERSE!" :D

WSSix 10-10-2014 07:12 PM

So glad to see that 2nd gen still being built. Can't wait to see the finished product.

preston 10-10-2014 10:18 PM

Its a very nice cage, and I really respect Al and Matt's opinion but y'all are laying it on a tiny bit thick. I've seen some pretty wicked roll cages in my time.

Looking forward to RS's reveal - on both cars mentioned.

They CNC'd a bracket to hold a clutch or brake master cylinder and a pedal.

I remember the rendering of the chevelle tail lights, usually the renderings are way cooler than the finished product, but these are spot on perfect!
Nice job!

That 64 Chevelle is the car that I am the most excited about seeing in Vegas. I can't imagine the hours and thought that have gone into that car. Amazing.

RDuke 10-13-2014 11:08 AM

Just wondering if you guys get custom plastic tail lights made up for you or are they done in house? Love the final look of the 64 chevelle. Nice work.

I would also like to know this answer. But if I recall correctly from the website "Current Projects" portfolio it looks like they make them in house. Id like to know the process!

I know those tips are machined ALU.

Thx for the reference. It looks like all in house. I suspect there are two ways of doing it, (1) mold and resin and (2) CNC a block of plastic resin. Looking at the build pics you referenced it looks like they were CNC from two pieces with a stock clear light diffuser in the lower piece.
