Picked up this extra frame that's been narrowed and tubbed for $150!!! Can't wait to get started on it!!!

Pulled the bed back off of the frame, got it in the garage, swept out all the leaves and branches, pulled the gas door off and made a template to shave it!!1 Now just gotta cut it out and weld it up!!!

Gonna be a cool build!!!

What are you planning for power train?

Either a blown small block with a 6-71 or a tunnel ram??? Gonna use a. 700r4 trans as this will be more of a street truck than a drag truck!!

I love these square bodied dimes! If I could find on cheap enough I'd bag and body it for my DD.

I picked the truck up a few years ago for $1800... It was a cold weather/rainy day vehicle due to I use to ride a motorcycle... Unfortunatley I can no longer operate a motor vehicle legally (I have an eye disease called Macular Degeneration) so, I've got this extra frame I picked up for $150!! Now, it doesn't matter if the truck is running all the time anymore!!! Looking on the brighter side of things I can get busy on this project!!!

Wow sorry to hear about you eyes! But at least you're not letting it get the best of you!

Yeah, it sucks but!!! Luckily, I have a great woman in my life that loves old cars as much as I do and can help me work on it!!!

Got the top rails just about done!!! Need to do a skim coat and than, the sides are next!!!

Well, I've madde a little more progress... I picked up a cheapy 90amp welder and helmet off of Craigslist for $75!!! I was able to weld in the gas door(not pretty, haven't picked up a welder in years, it's a cheapy welder and sheet metal thats a little to thin)!!! Also, picked up a set of these Centerline polished Auto Drags 15x15!!!!

1 Gas door, gone!!!!!

Been a little cold and rainy to do anymore bodywork!! So, I cleaned up the new wheels!!!

And, the bodywork saga continues!!!!

Oh fun! Nice work shaving the bed. An old school roots blower on a 4-bolt small block would be perfect for this. I have a first generation S-10 that I am going to build, so I will be watching yours. Keep it up.

Back in high school, I told my dad that I wanted to put a V8 in his S-10 (which is now my S-10). His coworker has a V8 dime, and my dad told me it was a pointless endeavor, because they (V8 swapped S-10's) are plagued by overheating issues.

That did little to sway my determination, and I stumbled across the reverse cooling LT1/LT4. And have learned a great deal about radiator ducting and heat extraction as a result.

Granted, I don't yet have an LT4. I can't bring myself to settle for an LT1 (easy score out of a Caprice), because I want the 4-bolt LT4. And I know an LS would be a cheaper and easier swap. Everyone says it's not worth putting money into a small block when you can get more from a junkyard LS, for cheaper.

But I have wanted to build a boosted 383ci LT4 to put in that S-10 since I was in high school (over a decade ago).

I will follow your build, maybe it will inspire me to go get my dime and start building.

Picked up 2 Grilles off of Craigslist for $20 for the pair!!! Making my own "Factory Phantom" grille!!!

Well, with the weather being hot and the afternoon rains it's hard to do any bodywork right now... So, I got more done on my custom "Factory Phantom" grille... Now just have to take it all back apart and start stipping all the chrome off of it and get it ready for bodywork...

Started to strip the chrome off of the grille to get it ready for assembly!!! I had seen on youtube that you can use household bleach to remove chrome off of plastic parts!!! I tried it, 1st pics are after 1 24hr soak and the next pics are after 2 24hr baths!!! Now, just gotta figure out how to soak the main grille?? Fiancee will kill me if I use the bathtub!!!!

Boxes are good!!! Got my ladder bar brackets in yesterday from Appliued Racing Technology (A.R.T)!!!

Got some tires to mock up the rear on the S10!!! They're a little too wide but they're just for mock up!!!

Well, geting some more work done!! With the weather cooling off I can get back onto working on my sled!!! Did some more body work, got the frame to my buddys' houe where he's fixing some butchered work, narrowing the 9'!!
