Thanks Ken! It's a nice article - she's stoked!

Now Charley has WRITTEN proof that it really is HER car.... LOL

WSSix 12-07-2014 05:30 PM

Congrats Gwen and Greg!

DBasher 12-07-2014 08:35 PM

Forgot to ask you, what ever happened on the cooling issue?

GregWeld 12-07-2014 09:16 PM

I haven't pestered them on it - will wait for the shop to clear up after Grand National Roadster Show in January. I'll be down there - so will bust their chops about it then.

A group does plan to make the run from NorCal to Texas GG Lonestar show in April -- and they know that - so it should be resolved by then.

Lenie 12-07-2014 09:52 PM

Congratulations Gwen.

I have not been able to find any electronic versions of the article to copy and paste - so these will have to do.

The "selfie" camera flip makes it appear to be some kind of euro car with driving on the wrong side of the road... LOL

Me too Ron.... Me too.... Because when you do these things - you're never quite sure of the reaction you're going to get. In this case - she loved it - loved the trip - love the people she met... Life is good!

Actually -- I think meeting Charley is what put her off on hot rodders....

Swain 12-08-2014 02:02 PM

Was that shock or emotion on her face in the presentation photo?

One of the best looking roadsters ever! What beautiful colors. Was that you or Brizio that put the color pallet together?

Congrats! That's FOREVER brownie points for sure!

First off -- Thanks to everyone that has commented here. I wasn't even going to post up that the little hot rod was in a magazine... But I appreciate Ken's posting it up. It's a hot rod - not pro-touring... so doesn't really fit the forum. I still appreciate all the nice comments - and we're all "car guys" so I'm happy many here recognize this.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

The color combination was taken (stolen?) from a build that I saw at The Grand National Roadster Show. This color combo - and in fact, the actual body color - was on Phil Remington's Tribute car - a '27 track nose T. The owners were kind enough to actually remove a panel from the car to send to us so we could duplicate the color. Sid Chavers chose the interior color used - which is a "toned down" version of the combo on the Remington car. I had chosen a brighter more lipstick red. His was/is a far better reddish maroon color and really fits the car well.

The wheels were taken (stolen) from Tom Gloy's '32 build... with his gracious permission. They're billet pieces (one piece) and are pin drive.

The lines of the car rest squarely on Roy Brizio's expertise in adapting my "wishes" and making it happen. I asked him for a "traditional build - with attitude"... Thus the louvers - and skinny tires - and quick change and straight axle combo -- but with the rake built into the body via chopping the grill, and the "chopped top" (the top is stock as comes on the American Speed '33) look to add some attitude.

Cool car. Congrats. It does not matter if its pro touring or not IMO.

Thanks guys! She's loving the attention! LOL

I've had people I haven't talked to in a couple years calling after seeing the article and that's cool!

We are all circling the drain Enjoy the ride. It's cool to see dollar bills turned into sweet rides like this that bring joy. Can't drive a money clip.

My wife doesn't know it yet but she's getting a brand new shotgun for Christmas. :poke: :mock:

I have Gwen actually looking at hand guns... and she loves the little AR style .22's. She fired one round with my 1911 and handed that back to me. LOL

I bought my wife the lil S&W AirLite .38 for her birthday last month...its mine now. Still need to find something she's comfortable shooting...or I wouldn't mind owning!

I bought the mag last night and checked out the article, very cool!

I'd love to have one of these, low recoil and flash, lightweight, small, accurate, and I'd much rather get shot with a .25 or .380 than a .22 Mag.

End of jack.
