Tubular Upper And Lower Control Arms??
I´m about to get myself some tubular upper and lower control arms for my
-68 camaro. My question is: What brand should i go for? Dse or SpeedTech? Mikael |
DSE.

Speed Techs are nice and on GP at GPSuperStore.com
|
Not a huge fan of Speed Tech's customer service or lack there of. I e-mailed and called them many times early on in my build up, and never got a phone call or e-mail back. Go with DSE.

DSE Excellent quality and service

Global West has better caster built in than either one of those. Plus they originated the aluminum/delrin bushing that everyone is using now a days.
For $499 for a pair, they cannot be beat in terms of performance, and quality. Tyler |
Tyler,
What are your thoughts on the SC&C upper arms? |
Thanks for the help.
Tyler Global West...do they have a lower arm for a coilover setup and where can i buy them? The Global West homepage is kind of old.... Mikael |
Yes GLobal West has a lower arm for Coil Overs. Here's a link to the 67-69 Global West Suspension page - the arms are about half way down.
http://www.globalwest.net/Camaro%20a...on%20parts.htm You can buy direct from them. Be aware they tend to be slow. |
You can go through Global West, or through us, as we are a GW dealer.
True- The SPC arms are a pretty sweet alternative to the tubular 'norm' that most of us see. They are unique because of the adjustable portions on the arms, and require little to no shimming to dial in. The only down side I can see is letting someone align your car that has no clue what they are doing. Tyler |
We`ve found that even the most slack jawwed alignment "tech" can understand how to adj. our A arms if you just tell them "They adjust like tie rods." Then the little light goes on and they`re trackin. :)
Or,if you don`t trust your baby to the guy at the local battery and tire place just add one of these to your SC&C order and do it yourself. http://www.scandc.com/tools.htm The best part is that it`ll work on any car with wheels from 13"-19" so you can tell your wife you bought it to align her mini van so it doesn`t wear the tires funny. Mark SC&C |
Hi Marcus,
Frank here. I bought adjustable pro lites upper control arms and your tall stud ball joints for my '65 Corvette when I did my mods over the off season. I am very happy and I like my car even better now. You customer service was the best, made me very comfortable with my purchase. :hail: My alignment guy really loved the adjustabilty of of the control arms. Said it was the most accurate alignment he had ever done. Question: I would like to do my own alignments but with your equipment, how do you measure in relation to the rear wheels? The align shops use "Heads" on all 4 wheels with laser beams to to align in relationship to the rear wheels. How is that done with your gear? |
BMR has tbu control arms for them
|
Hi Frank! I`m glad you like the package,I knew you would.
Our Fasttrax alignment setup isn`t really set up for doing true 4 wheel alignments. You can do front and rear seperately though. Unless the car`s been hit pretty hard at one time and the frame`s racked that`s usually more than good enough. Or get a baseline 4 wheel laser alignment done then you can tweak and adjust all you like from that baseline. Mark SC&C |
Thanks Marcus
