T-56 Tunnel cap
Interested in tunnel cap, is this for a first generation F-body ? Our car is a 69 Firebird convertible and have intentions on installing a LS-1 GTO engine and have the shifter in the factory location w/ a T-56 six speed. Correct cap ? Please advise when you get a free moment. Thank You.

Hi Tim. Yes its for a first gen. Its designed for the speedtech engine mouts & crossmember. It may fit other setups, but it depends on engine placement. I am running a DSE subframe & setback engine mounts. This cap wasnt quite long enough. I can take some measurements if you'd like.

Good morning Scott, I am new to the PT objective so I am gathering parts/components so I really do not know what I will end up with for a cross member, engine mounts, etc… I was leaning towards Holley mounts and to place the engine so as the shifter on the T-56 will end up in the same position as the original Muncie so I can use the original floor console and look factory stock on the inside. Let me do a little more homework to see if that Speed Tech cover will work for my application and report back to you, if you can afford me the time to do so. Thank you.

Would like to pursue purchase on tunnel if still available Scott. Thank You.

Apparently first come is not necessairly first served. Thanks anyhow.

Tim- You said you had to do so research before purchasing. I took that as you were undecided. If you had said "ill take it", it would have been first come first served. The first guy that said he would take it, got it. Since you have not started the swap & are unsure about which parts you'll be using on your swap, its probably best that you didnt buy it. Once you decide on your engine mounts, subframe, etc, then you can choose a tunnel. I have sold many parts on LS1tech (80+ feedback, 100%)and ebay (750+ feedback, 100%) and swap meets. I am a fair and reasonable guy. Didnt mean to upset you- I apologize. Scott

Asking someone to hold a part while you decide if you want it or not after your researching is complete is a bit of a reach to claim you were first in line. |
I mean no disrespect to anyone here, no hard feelings it was just that I had made multiple phone calls (to vendors) trying to get an understanding if the tunnel cover would work for my application and when I was fairly confident it would I went back in to purchase and it was gone and I was suprised and disapointed at the same time. Scott, I had purchased items from you in the past and every transaction has gone super smooth. I have no issue with anyone here. You guys are right, I did not commit in my initial responses and have no "dibs" on the part, it went to the right man. I am sorry if I offended anyone.

Nothing is considered sold until the man has the money in his account, if you don't want to miss out on a deal at least throw him a deposit. :EmoteClueless:
Thanks for the calipers and super fast shipping! |
