My New 69 Protour Build
1st Thanks to Curtis and Jeff for turning me on to this project car that had just come up for sale and to Jody for his help in working it all out.
The project was started a few years ago and the owner was not able to finish. I was very fortunate to be able to purchase it. It's a tremendous car with a lot of hard work and quality parts invested, The best thing about it is the truly amazing body and paint work. Here are a few pictures of the car the day I picked it up. I'll post the build details and progress as it goes if anybody is interested http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psd07d0ff7.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps7bfe2725.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps19bbab7e.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps90fcf5ab.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps64d1d8af.jpg |
Looks like a lot of the hard work is done. Does the suspention just need to be taken out and powdercoated?

Probably paint. I built 55 Belair a few years ago with PC frame and it was a pain to touch up. My last 69 Camaro I did black base/clear and liked it better. |
Looks like a great start! Post up some details if you get a chance?
|
Buy the body, build the drivetrain, looks like you've got a dern nice start there!
|
John, I am glad I was able to assist. Perfect timing! I was wondering if you where going to post pictures. I know you will build it right and enjoy it for years. The level of work on the car is AWESOME and the pictures DON'T DO IT JUSTICE! It's going to be a lot of fun watching and helping with this build. I'm looking forward to it!
:captain: |
Great looking car

Nice find..congrats. Please post build pics when you get started.
|
Nice find, I will watch this build :gitrdun:

Great car! So much of the hard work has already been done. Glad to see it will get finished. And yes - the paint & body on this is second to none. Drooled on it many times when I went over to Jody's.

Soo Clean
Perfect start for a nasty build!

Update
I picked up a SpeedTech front sub and have decided to use it instead of the Scott Mock sub. (my kid is putting the SM in his 69)
I'll be bolting it in next weekend along with dropping in the engine and tranny. http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psw02cosgy.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...pshffb8uge.jpg |
that's some nice fab work right there!

Those are some Sweet Parts! This is going to be a sweet ride!!

Still lurking
That front sub is sweet!

A little Update
Engine and tranny dropped in. Had to go with the Speedtech Headers to clear everything, Brakes, TMI Sport Seat Covers and Foam, Modded the Rear Seat to Fit the Tubs and Quadralink, AC installed, Console with a Pioneer Double DIN AP Radio, DSE Dash powdercoated Silver with Phantom II Gauges.
Going with Hose Candy Radiator Hoses and will tidy up all the wiring. Moved it to my other garage with the lift to finish up the brake lines, fuel lines e-brake cables and underneath wiring. A few more weeks and lot of little detail stuff and I'll be rolling.:D http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...pso8cbe6uj.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjfbngjjj.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psmzyrh3re.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psyokqpkl4.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psodk7kjhx.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psehfyjjvc.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...pstyoplbtb.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...psqioqkw9v.jpg |
