Video of Joe Nova
This is the ultimate sleeper Nova that Wheel to Wheel built and drove on Power Tour. http://www.lateral-g.org/temp/joenova.wmv
|
LOL, I love it. Kurt, what's the dealio on that? What did it lay down on the W2W chassis dyno?
|
|
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

So, what did it run?
|
I have another video of it that I'll be getting online later, he ran 10.01 at 141.8. Talk about a sleeper.
|
What tires do you run.
I wish to buy their stock NOW. Unreal... :hail: |
And he drove it on Power tour. The car drew a crowd the whole way. I would be walking thru a venue and hear people mentioning the sleeper Nova or the old green Nova. The mounting plate for the super chargers has them spaced so a third one can be added if mo power is deemed necessary.

Jesus!......Does that thing have XT wheels and DD caps?...tracks remarkably straight....I can't imagine how fast that thing would be with decent traction...makes for a great show though...just look at the guys in the crowd! I love it :hail:

Wow, that is cool.
somebody cross-bred an old slingshot dragster with a nova! |
It was pretty funny. At Englishtown while Kurt and Joe Nova were sitting in the staging lanes a track official came up to check that it had been thru tech. He laughed and commented on how non track worthy it looked from a distance. I think it is certified to run 8's. Maybe Kurt can chime in.

 at that video, that was hilarious
|

|

The car has steel wheels made by stockton wheel, 11 inch in back with 7 inch in front. It has 295/65/15 drag radials on the back.
Once the tires spun the run was ruined, the rest was just for fun/entertainment. Car got pretty loose at the 1/8 mile so I shut it down. That is the longest burnout I have ever done! I broke the torque converter on the chassis role before the pump gas drags, best we seen was 750's at the tire. The engine made 1160hp at the flywheel in testing, that tune will go in now that power tour is over. Best et so far was [email protected] on 93 octane at pump gas drags on drag radial tires. Power tour was lots of fun, except for the ticket in Florida. All I did was spin the tires!! Kurt PS: after that run I went up to Charley and asked "where's the Mule", he answered NO...... |
"He said NO" lol We've all seen you drive, Kurt!
I should have your 10.01 pass online tonight. |

Thanks, now we just need to get that thing out on the North-South straight at MPG! |

That car is so cool. I videoed the 10.01 pass too, then was sitting next to Charley when you ran the last 10.06. Funny thing is, it was a let down to see you run a 10.06. lol I wanted to see 9.99 on the board. No one else was even close, but the nova was doing business. |
I wanted that 9.99999 bad!!! We will try and get a nine on the next power tour....

The car is certified to 8.50, with all needed safety items.
Gainsville was the best tech I have ever done. I rolled in and seen the "tech" signs pointing to top end return road area. I drive down and they hand me a tech card that I fill out and sign. The tech guy walks up, looks at the car and writes a 19 on the windshield and side glass, tells me to have fun. He also says the starter will help me stage when I get up by the line. I make my first pass, 10.19@141mph. As soon as I stop in the pits, a 4 wheeler and a spree pull up with track officials on board. They say I need to return to tech with my car, and DON'T run anymore. I return to tech with the car and a normal tech inspection under hood, trunk and undercar takes place, everything is legal. He then says I need a NHRA liscence to run my speed, I pull mine out and he just smiles, hands me my paperwork and says "nice car...kinda". Kurt Quote:
