72 Chevelle Built All Wrong

I almost threw up when I saw this. I mean, I know anything people build should not surprise me, but this just took the cake. Being a 72 Chevelle owner, I just gritted my teeth. Notice the big whole the owner put into the roof. I'm gonna leave my Chevelle to my now, 3 year old son. I know I'll be dead and gone, but I hope and pray he doesn't turn it into this. LOL!!

Wow! Isn't that something. With those wheels it seems most appropriate to drive that wearing some form of clown costume.

HEEP 02-16-2015 04:58 PM

I've always wondered where you get a lift kit for a '72 Chevelle. Evidently, you can get them in GA.
Now, if they get some gap spray for that passenger fender, that thing would be money.
As for the roof, that was made to watch Weld's fireworks shows.

Wow. Poor thing.

But, look at the bright side. You don't need a jack to change the oil.

The most irritating part of that video was the position of the apostrophe in the description at the beginning and in the title for the video.

1972 abbreviated is '72, not 72'

So many people get that wrong and it bothers the hell out of me. :sieg:

Spiffav8 02-16-2015 06:52 PM

I was pretty shocked when I first saw that to! :confused59:

It screams clown car to me...which is probably true on many levels.

Dude was wearing a ski mask to protect his identity... did not want to be seen driving the car?

Shmoov69 02-16-2015 08:31 PM

Dat ting is DOPE yo!!:action-smiley-027:

Reminds me of that one scene in airplane.... "Excuse me stewardess........"

raustinss 02-17-2015 06:18 AM

Further proof that certain people shouldn't have money and that money doesn't buy brains

Kill It! Kill It With Fire!!!

I don't get it either Marcus...but, it is a very popular style of customizing. These style rides are in all the major cities, have dedicated magazines, shows, a huge following on social media.

Other than the wheels, it's really not that bad. At least they did a good job.

We had a guy call us yesterday to try and order 3" LIFT spindles for his 70s Caprice. :hairpullout:

I work just a couple miles from Riverdale. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for that car.

travmon 02-17-2015 12:02 PM

Well thanx for that, now i have to go wash my eyes out and lay down!

Build-It-Break-it 02-17-2015 01:13 PM

I don't like the car either but everyone is entitled to build there own idea of a dream car. I'm sure purist wouldn't agree with things people have done to Camaro,Chevelle, nova, mustang etc. Shaved drip rails, custom interior, fender flairs, flush mount glass, etc etc. His car his money. Ugly to most, yes,but everyone can use there money how they see fit.

travmon 02-17-2015 01:24 PM

I am all for individuality, BUT make it safe to be on our PUBLIC STREETS...These vehicles are so unsafe at so many levels they should not be legal to be on our roads..And yes I feel the same way about most rat-rods..

I don't get this trend at all either but this one in the video below is almost cool to me. I think it's because it reminds me playing with toy cars as a kid and this looks like a toy. I'm probably alone on this but I don't hate it. I never thought I would see the day when cars had 34" Wheels on them.

andrewb70 02-17-2015 04:46 PM

The ridiculously large wheels always reminds me of this:

To each their own...their money, their cars...

I was going to say something else, but I may get into trouble.

Completely true. It's their car/their money, and they can do whatever they wish. But having these things running around on public streets, with those gigantic wheels putting the stresses on the suspensions/brakes and the wheels itself, failure of any of these components can be bad. I've seen an aftermath of one of these gigantic wheels on a Tahoe broke off at the wheel hub, after taking a turn on an off ramp. Good thing no one got hurt in that incident.

You did you put the drop spindles on upside down, like I told you, right?
