Just showin some pics of My new 1970 Firebird aka "Strike" no need for a build thread

So yea.. some on here have seen my 70 Firebird poncho350 that I call "Strike" actually its strike3 because its my third classic PONTIAC and every time I build one of these the Poncho guys got retard on me and say I did some sort of blasphemy.. immediate STRIKE to my name with them out the gate.. So Strike it is... lol..

I really just did basic modifications( Hotchkis drops, 3 inch drop leafs, Swaybars, Brake upgrade and some pretty things here and there with MY touches.. lol) to it and have just been enjoying driving it around as a daily beater..

You know I like to make it stylistically similar to my other cars.. I did my lil GS stripe but very different than most would.. I kindof felt like it was like warpaint for the 2nd gen in that treatment.. being ponchos mascot is usually an indian warrior I felt like it was fitting..

this is the first car I ever rocked a color on.. I guess it works as far as the name too because its "beat you black and blue" colorscheme.. oh well.. just wanted to share my new-ish addition to my harem.

how she started out.. this was November..

So yea.. thats it!..

other than this.. visually itll stay relatively the same other than putting on the back flares on her which Ive been to lazy to do so and a front splitter with stabilizers but I will be having a mean Pontiac 455 motor built for it..

later fellas..

Sweeeeeet! You ever go to Caffeine and Octane, Amir? I'll have to keep an eye out for this one if you do.

Mr.VENGEANCE 03-05-2015 10:50 AM

Since they just moved C&O right near my house I almost went this last one in Strike..

problem was Im not the earliest bloomer.. lol!

I wonder how bad traffic is into the mall area with that going on..

OLDFLM 03-05-2015 10:56 AM

I dig it!! Wheels look good... wish you'd have kept the Formula hood though.

What size wheel/tire/backspacking do you have on there! I bet you get plenty of  !

Mr.VENGEANCE 03-05-2015 11:17 AM

Yea most people really dig the Formula hood.. I completely understand.. but my eye as a designer keeps seeing a pair of nostrils that compete with the nostrils of the front bumper.. witch just wierds me out.. lol!

The face of these is what makes me love them more than a 2nd gen Camaro.. MOST people like the split bumper camaro with the RS treatment.. but strangely for me I actually like the non rs with the full length bumper..

oh well.. VROOOM!

Sieg 03-05-2015 12:20 PM

With ya on the hood, the shaker looks proper.

The early prototype formula hood was better than the production hood.......but still not a shaker. :D

I didn't go last weekend because of rain. Next month will hopefully be better.

I come in from the west off Hammond. It's simple getting in from that direction. I also get there by about 8 though. Watching traffic, it seemed like it was ok coming in from different directions.

Have fun with it!

I forgot to show it when it was in this state of the build..

they are some type of Centerlines.. but I plasticoated them and whitelettered the tires with my crew stencils.. I really liked them but the current wheels I got for a song so I couldnt pass em up.. but these will still stay in my batch of wheels I have on deck..

I did quite a bit of clearancing a set of hookers that came with the car.. I massaged the floor and re hung the exhaust.. so now its low but daily drivable low.. about the height of 5 inches.. at its lowest roughly.. I can go over speed bumps to say where im at.

the wheels are BBS LM reps in BMW pattern that I painted with some thick meats.

ONEBAD78TA 03-05-2015 03:53 PM

I love it man,,,looks bad ass:thumbsup:

What are the specs of the thick meats? I am torn on what size tires to put on my trans am. Probably either 295/40/18 since they are the tallest performance tire available or 315/30/18 for the extra width.

The front tires were damn near brand new when I bought them from my friend... as BMW guys ride they run a small sidewalls... as you can see I put THICK meat in the rear.. so in the meantime im just running what was on the fronts til I feel like changing them out to thicker which was my plan all along.
