Washington old guy/newguy
1 Attachment(s)
Introduction is I'm a 55 year old that started a project 1966 Fairlane GT. The car was purchased from the guy that bought it from an estate sale. The car came with a truckload of old and new parts as well as books & receipts. I have so far installed Crites subframe connectors as well as going through the Boss 302 handbook and adding any recommended bracing that will keep the early unibody from twisting like a pretzle. I ran Chumpcar for a few years and have plans to stiffen the chassis before going to paint. I will try to upload some pictures once I resize them.

Great start Wayne! One of my favorites from the Thunderhill event a few weeks back....

Funny you would post that car! It was a video of it that pushed me into calling Mike Maier to ask how and what was done to it to get it to handle so well. I was hanging Christmas lights up on my roof, took me 2 hrs to finish the conversation with both Mike and John. He talked me through some of the mods to make as well as why I should do it different than the way I had planned. Yes I can buy parts from a guy like that.

Whatchu sayin Ron? You see the way it looks right now, I am trying to figure out how to reduce the file size and if I should transfer this to a "Build Thread".
Dont hate man there is to many of em already. (Kidding:twak: ) |
Fanboy > Hater
Just giving you a hard time man, means you fit right in here :hello: |
I say you start a build thread Wayne, you can't be any slower than most around here...:action-smiley-027:
Weren't you driving a fairlane at Griots? |
The car as it sits right now has no front end .(Mike Maier inc is shipping the NEW and improved MOD 1 coil over kit) the Rear end is apart in preparation of installing 2004 cobra rear calipers and rotors (thank you Vintage Venom) along with 2014 14" Cobra rotors and Brembo calipers. V venom again. I was half way through the upgrade when Mike Maier pulled the plug and made "the move". It happens and he has been great to work with. I guess I have the honor of have some of both houses. Right now my goal is to get it down on 4 wheels so it can be media blasted in prep for epoxy sealer. Yes I am slow but I am not wasting a chance to do it right. I still need to locate some 18" roll around wheels. I can wait for Mike to finish designing and building the lower control arms.
