Power Tour '15

Anyone from LatG doing any or all of the tour? My car is going to the Roadster Shop for some TLC and Madison WI is only 2 hours away, so I figured why not. Going to be a long hauler, all the way back to Baton Rouge. Then home to Houston. Hopefully get to meet some people from the site along the way...

i'll be going, starting in Madison then stopping in St.Louis.
Hope to see you there.

rkleypas 03-28-2015 09:46 PM

Chill, are you going to run JA2?

clill 03-29-2015 07:46 AM

Hellfire

will69camaro 03-29-2015 08:35 AM

Wish my car was ready. No way it will be

rkleypas 03-29-2015 07:31 PM

Dang Will. You seemed close a few months ago. Hopefully not a major set back.
Clill, you will be easy to find but certainly hard to meet. Hellfire is going to draw a crowd. Are you long hauling? My sixteen year old and I are doing the whole thing; hopefully we can meet you...and the car. So looking forward to this trip.

clill 03-29-2015 09:05 PM

Yes we will be doing the Long Haul. see you somewhere.

Be careful what you wish for! The guy can cost you a small fortune! Beware when he says "you know what you need....."

Only setback is my time/budget. It's not any closer than it was several months ago. GAP got busy with the Detroit Autorama and I went offshore for 2 months.

It'll get there someday!

Greg,

Looking at your signature, you have plenty of cars to choose from. Are you sure you can't make it?
I'm going to need the back story on the "...cost you a fortune" comment. Might need to tell it over a few beers?

Generally I do the L A Roadster Show that weekend -- which is also my wife's birthday.... So it's just hard to be in two places at once. That and we're busy building a new house this year -- so I'm trying to be choosey about when and and how long I'm gone. Besides -- Lillard is there -- and he's not in LA... so I go that going for me.

clill 03-30-2015 08:30 PM

Thanks God for the Roadster show. Power Tour is a week and I can only take Weld in small doses..:bitchslap:

Bringing this thread back to the top.

3 weeks to Power tours.

Anyone from Houston going?

We'll be leaving for Memphis Monday, June 8.

I'll be at the last 3 stops. Looks like im rolling solo again. See if I can catch up with you guys in birmingham. Memphis was really nice facility when i was there a couple years back. End of the drag strip dumps you out onto a portion of the mini road course. I was there early and had a blast running down the 1/4, then hitting a few turns on the road course before I got back to the return road. :)

Zoomin 05-25-2015 08:26 PM

This has been on my bucket list for a long time and I'm all signed up and ready to go. My buddy just bailed on me, haven't found anyone to replace him on short notice yet. I'm wondering if it would be much fun running solo.

Is the camaraderie pretty good on this deal?

Z06vette 05-25-2015 08:39 PM

I've run it 3 times, the last 2 times solo. Will probably end up running it solo again this year, not sure yet. I ran out of fuel on a highway in TN in 2011. My 69 was newly finished and the the float had stuck at 1/4 tank. I wasnt on the shoulder for even 5 minutes when 2 cars stopped. They drove to the next exit, got a gas can, and brought couple gallons back to me. They refused to let me pay them back or by them dinner. I'll be running from Birmingham to Baton Rouge if you want to try to link up.
