Hey guys i've been scoping out this site for some time now and just finally registered. The name is Dan, I have future plans for several g-machines in my distant future but for now i drive a 02 GMC Sonoma that i somewhat recently airbagged...
After... http://www.vertical-limit.com/galler...Recent+055.jpg http://www.vertical-limit.com/galler...Recent+035.jpg My future project is something my father and i have been working on for the past 9 years.. a 68 Cutlass S. While it is just a resto with a few improvements.... Pic... http://www.vertical-limit.com/gallery2/d/1889-2/aae.jpg I have been plotting out plans for her for some time... http://www.vertical-limit.com/galler...160-2/Chop.JPG http://www.vertical-limit.com/gallery2/d/1893-2/aag.jpg I am open to opinions and hope to learn very much from most of you on this site... |
Welcome aboard-You'll learn alot here I have. Love the Cutlass, It's great to see an alternative body style on the site!!
|
cool projects. I like the Olds photochop, the wheels and stance look great!
|
Welcome aboard, Dan.

welcome Dan. It's good to see more Olds blood in here. I've got a '68 as well but it doesn't look as good as yours. And replacement sheetmetal is hard to find. Oh and the Noma looks good too. But I see those all the time down here. When was the last time you saw a '68 cruising the streets?

Thanks for all the appreciation. |
there's 2 fenders from a 68 442 on ebay. Last I looked they were at $125 and $110 shipping a piece. And they have to be patched. Hell, I can patch mine for that.

I wonder how black centered wheels would look on the olds..

The rims that will be going on her are not our dream rims. Though we love TT2's and originally wanted them, they are so common on musclecars these days we decided to try something different. I attained some Eagle 212's (yeah, i know i know) for next to nothing and feel with some slight modifications they will work well.... They are 17X8 with 245/45/17 up front and 18X9.5 with 305/45/18 out back. Heres what i'm thinkin.... (again, opinions are welcomed) Paint the recessed sections dark grey or a matching blue, add black lugs, and plain center caps with the late60's-early70's Oldsmobile emblem CNC'ed on them. Pics.... Please forgive the crappy "rendering" http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7379/darkgrey2pm.jpg http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/7236/darkblue9rn.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f5...e/71342b43.jpg |
I think I like the look of the black better than the blue but not sure how much better than leaving it chrome.
