NorCal Shelby - Thunderhill

I just looked and there's plenty of spaces left in each group to sign up for this event.... Come out and run with us! You don't need a Ford... You WILL need appropriate equipment for the run group you choose.

There is the entry level group where driving instruction is FREE.... And you can run one day or both days...

MAY 2nd and 3rd ---

Obviously you kids haven't been on the track against a decent Miata/Driver combo..........they'll put your panties in a knot. :D

DBasher 04-02-2015 10:39 PM

To be fair, I've already offered a decent amount for it...Greg said something about me being a big goon and not fitting. I bet with a dropped floor and the seat moved into the trunk I may fit.

Greg, I think it's because he drives a Miata-like car when on track instead of his Camaro.

Go ahead and laugh! A Couple more paychecks and she'll be race ready.... We just installed the Sutton 16 link...

.......... Oh --- and this lap is faster than anything Sutton has ever recorded for myself (old Mustang) - Charlie - or Gaetano.... Thus -- what Sieg was saying about a stinky little Miata wadding up your panties when you come to the track with all our bad boy stuff.... LOL

I'm knot serious........ though I did drive the car out the country road by T-Hill when Greg took delivery. Personally I think it will be a LOT of fun on the track and a great training tool, not to mention low stress........and the key word at any track day is fun!

rustomatic 04-03-2015 09:57 AM

Whoever coined the term "gender confusion speedster" deserves a Web-based Pulitzer.

I did an SCCA autocross in Sacramento last weekend, and there were of course many Miatas present. They were all driven by (potentially confused) dudes...

On THIS website --- anything other than owning a '69 Camaro qualifies for that description.....

THIS is gender confusion.....

Since when does ostrich come in blue plastic? What has porn done to society to make the French tickler into a shoe? You're confusing me, Greg, but that's okay. I firmly believe that you are decidedly of the male gender, even if you roll up to the yogurt shop in your Miata--just rock it like you mean it.

Can't go to optima Vegas because
of the Ranch BBQ at dad's. So kicking

Just checking to see again who is running T-hill

I'm pulling out as a result of somebody buying the motor and transmission out of my Falcon tomorrow. I may still cruise out to complain about the glare coming off of Greg's shiny paint, however, and to get a few hits of race gas exhaust...

First you sell the tow rig, now the motor and trans from the car...she must be a real special girl.

rustomatic 04-15-2015 09:59 AM

The old motor pretty much was a new motor: Ford Racing X302, with about 6000 miles on it. I think it may have been starting to kill the T5Z, since I tend to shift off the rev limiter pretty frequently (or just bounce off of it). The stuff was good still, but I just want to go in a different direction, I think. I didn't like driving the car anymore, unless I was pinning it--this isn't always the safest driving condition. That's not the car I set out to have, so it is now slowly coming apart before it can go back together...

I've got a shiny C4 Corvette in the yard, and have been contemplating playing "If They Mated" for a couple months now...

Meanwhile, I've got to try and avoid failing out of law school in my first year, and get a grip on the ADD...

DBasher 04-15-2015 01:59 PM

Law school is overrated, embrace the ADD!

It's the student loans that are overrated. But they'll pay off... some decade. :D

glassman 04-15-2015 03:43 PM

ADD and Law, isn't that like "oil and water"? I only have one of the two, guess which one?

rustomatic 04-17-2015 11:55 AM

Sorry, what was that? (Simultaneously popping zit, making pizza, and reading up on third-party beneficiaries...)

Lillard just called --- the Mayweather / Pacquiao fight is Saturday night (May 2nd) --- Lucky I have Direct TV in the toter!! I just ordered it!! EEEEEHHHHHAAAAAAA

rustomatic 04-23-2015 06:47 PM

The Shelby club doesn't reply to emails. I've been trying to pull out, since my Falcon has a big, empty hole where the engine used to be (there's a new one waiting in a garage corner, as of today). If I can't make my quitting official, I may have to show up with the C4, which will just be hecka exciting...

First off --- WORST FIGHT EVER...

While about a dozen of us had a great BBQ at the track - with much needed "refreshments" and a couple pots of my special recipe "bean dip" to soothe our hungers until the BBQ could get fired up -- the fight was a total dud. Oh well.

Gasman was a no show.... as was Gaetano... and Dave G.... as was Lilllard - who was unfortunate enough to have actually gone to LV to view the fight... thus missing the epic BBQ around the TV outside in the afternoon sunlight... Too bad for him.

The car has never worked better... Sutton is definitely on his game... with both the modifications and the driver coaching. Can't thank him enough for everything he's done on my behalf. It's making my driving weekends so much more fun.

Not bragging here -- it's just fact.... I've been running with NorCal Shelby Club now for about 4 years. Not once have any of the OTEC <the guys running the track sessions> guys come over to talk to me... but this time they had eyes for the little yellow Mustang and many of them came over to express how much fun it was to watch it and hear it. Even the Club President came out late Sunday to run with me. He'd been watching all weekend and decided he should come out and "play". We had so much fun! OMG! He's a way better driver than I am and I had to really work to stay with him - or keep him off my ass.... He also came over to the pit to thank me and say how much fun that was. It's nice when people recognize your improvements and say so. The perfect topper for a great weekend.

When we started this (my engagement of Ron Sutton Race Technologies), I was running 2:22's and driving my butt off to get those times.... I can now drive 'easier' and have more fun - and run 2:07's.... The biggest different is how much easier and more predictable the car is. The goal has been met and exceeded. Everyone's track times were off this weekend. Not sure why - but it just is what it is... and the goal was never to set a track record. I don't have that talent. The goal was to be able to go out have fun - and run with my friends while taking it easy (thus the fun part). In the past my friends have consistently run 2:10's.... With the "new" car -- I can practically coast and run that. GOAL MET.

clill 05-03-2015 07:35 PM

Now I want my car back.
