Going "old school" for me:)
For years, I have always had a Vette as a apart of my stable but about 6 years ago, I sold my last one. Got the itch again and started searching for another one. Drove a buddy of mine's C7 ZO6, nice car but just didn't care for the lines of the new C7. I have always loved the C6 and decided on a ZR1. After 2 months of searching, I found the "right" unmolested one. A '12 that was owned by a 68 year old guy that had been babied for 1900 miles. So far, lowered, complete clear bra and tint. I have been driving it and love it. Going to do a few upgrades, nothing crazy, wheels, ported blower, small cam, headers, upper and lower pullies, injectors for now. Hope to make 725rwh. I actually love driving it stock..:)

Where were those pictures taken? I see some Ferrari's, a ZR1 and some 2nd gen TA's. What a combination of cars!!!!
|
Beautiful car! I have always wondered though, are the roof panels on these removeable like they are on the base and grand sport c6's? It looks like this car is a targa but I have never seen a z06 or zr1 with the top off.

Awesome, glad to see that you found one!!! not gonna lie I really wanted to look at the one in MA oh well seems you found a much better one.
|
Love the plate! FTW!
 |
Nice! Love the ZR1. How do you decide what to drive everyday? Those are some hard cars to pass up driving.
|
Very cool! I'm not one to give any advice, but I'll step out on a limb......May I suggest changing to color scheme on the engine cover to match the body color? That blue just looks odd with the red - - -at least to me it does.
Can't wait to see it once you are finished tinkering with it. |
When's the last time you got the brewster green car out, SW? That one and your red one are my two favorites of your builds. The green one is easily top three builds from DSE to me, and I consider the top three to be a tie.
Have fun with the ZR1! I agree on the C6 looking better as well. I can't put my finger on what I don't like about the C7. It just doesn't do it for me compared to a widebody C6. |
Hey buddy, nice addition to an already unbelievable collection.I t would sure be hard deciding what to drive each day.I am a big fan of your truck collection also:thumbsup:
|
Beautiful car. Love the ZR1's.
Awesome collection SW. I love your garage. I see a drum set off in the distance. Do you play the drums? |
Awesome man! I think the first time I saw your stuff was with a white ZR at an import vs domestic race in Texas somewhere. Was that you or am I imagining it?

Looks good. Are you going with HRE for rims?
What does the Mclaren feel like at full throttle? Do you prefer it over the 458? |

That is pretty awesome. I see you also have a 911 GT3 in your gorgeous stable. One of my dream cars. How do you like driving that car? (I'll probably never be able to own one, just wanted to know your thoughts on the car overall.) |
theres my idol. long time no drool. my friend had the same zr1 as that. 2010 though. just got a blue z07 auto. first auto sports car he has had. he loves it. but yes, the lines are aggressive. especially with the big wing the z07 package comes with
|
Big deal..... what does Shelby think of it??
LOL Nothing beats AMERICAN V8 Torque.... then add some handling... and you have a super car. I think the Corvette is the hands down best value in the car world today. Bondurant will make you a believer. Redline it all day -- pound the brakes at every corner... they don't squeak or rattle... do it again the next day. Amazing for the money. |

Agreed 100%. I miss my Z06. Nice find Streetking! |

On the ZR1, it's a CF piece like the hood. Not sure why the Z06 is fixed.

This thread is so full of WIN! SW's interview of what car he likes to drive which day and why
Congrats SW! You got the right color too :D |

As a note, the c7's all use an aluminum frame, and the z06's have removable roofs (and even a convertible). Oh, and love the zr1, great choice, and one hell of a collection. |
How does a 600+HP factory car feel when you stab the throttle? Or any modern high HP Porsche, McLaren etc.?
Is it as "wild" that it feels in an older car? Or is everything so smooth that it dampens the speed feel? -I especially like that you have 3 Firebirds! :D |
SW, you guys ok down there?!? Apparently there is some major things happening in Austin right about now! Not in your neck of the woods hopefully!
