DP vs Shopline?
I was thinking of getting DP 90 for my Chevelle,@$370 gallon kit I guess was okay but then the shopline was $150 for that kit. The car is in bare metal so I'm just using this epoxy so I can protect it while I do body work. Is this the old saying you get what you pay for? Any help would be great. Thx

Don't go cheap on material. In the grand scheme it's a small percentage of the total bill

I like the dbc line. Read really good things about it. My color is 500.00 a gal

the dp is way overpriced and i can get it cheap.the shopline epoxy is a great product ,i think its repackaged dp but thats my opinion.i have never had a failure using the shopline. never used the southern poly but hear good things about it.

Shopline is the old OMNI line that sucks. Yes DP is overpriced, but it still won't make me use Shopline. I would suggest SPI as others have.

Epoxy
SPI here as well!
Great product, fast shipping and excellent customer service! |
I have used both DP and Shopline, I cant tell the difference. I now use the shopline as the epoxy coat when the car comes back from media blasting. then do bodywork and primer. Then use the shop line epoxy reduced 10% with acetone (as directed) for the sealer and I wet on wet the top coat. I will use a similar color epoxy sealer coat as the paint color to help with coverage.
but what do I know. I have had issues in the past mixing products so I only use ppg now at least if there is an issue you may have an argument with the rep. |
