MetalWorks LS3 powered 1967 Chevelle pro-touring re-vamp build
4 Attachment(s)
This 67 came into MetalWorks are an already great looking street car, but the new owner wanted us to take it to the next level of performance and style.
The transformation of this 67 will include: A brand new GM Performance 430hp LS3 engine with MSD Atomic LS EFI, a Wagner front runner drive kit, a 4L65E transmission with a MSD TCM "transmission controller", Vintage AC, a Currie 9" rear end, Heidt's front and rear suspension, Wilwood 12.19" brakes, Budnik V2 wheels, Dakota Digital gauges, and a full custom interior and convertible top. |
Love this generation! Gonna keep my eye on this for sure!
|
METALWORKS is the best high end car builders in the northwest. ( PERIOD ),,
I know first hand. |
Heidts front suspension swap

First thing we tackled was improving the Chevelle's handling and braking, so we swapped out the stock front suspension for a Heidts upgrade, and a Wilwood disc brake conversion.

Looks like a great project!
You should install a Holley 302-2 oil pan and use lower mounts for the Chevelle. Check out this thread: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717386 |

The hand held controller steps you through a series of basic questions, then it goes into a self learning mode, and really does an amazing job...we recommend it highly. |
That engine angle looks extreme. I bet the front operating angle is 10 degrees!!!

What accessory drive are you using on it?

They are using a Wegner front drive w/ two tone diamond cut finish.

Wegner makes a nice looking Accessory drive kit. Those Mac's Pivot for LS made installing my motor easy. The motor looks nice.

Nice way to keep the trunk looking clean with the upholstered panels.Last spring Bo stripped my 65 Gto.I installed larger tubs and have to run the exhaust over the IRS,my trunk floor paid the price and lost its good looks. This offers me a solution that I haven't considered. Its nice to see a shop doing good work and posting for us guys working in the garage at home.
