Blue72Nova Build v. Phase #1
So before my 30th birthday a couple weeks ago, I decided to purchase a new project. I recently sold my C6 z06 and wanted to get into building something else.
A friend of mine with not enough time had his 72 Nova for sale, so I was able to procure the project through him. Here is what the car started life as: 383 + Nitrous + TH350. Did 10.50's on motor. Overall, a fun pump gas street car. http://i.imgur.com/1FFWlzQ.jpg Luckily the car has two hoods, so it will be retaining the flat hood: http://i.imgur.com/JauWxpy.jpg The car has been stripped of the engine and sold. Same as the transmission and Weld Draglites. The Nova is currently on a rotisserie and the bottom was blasted to check/inspect for any rust: http://i.imgur.com/PfF5f0l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6cF6E50.jpg Overall, the bottom has no issues (old pic below) and I will be doing some further cleaning and then repainting/coating the bottom of the car: http://i.imgur.com/j68hugB.jpg The rear tubs were cut out and the 12 bolt has been removed. In place are some DSE Minitubs: http://i.imgur.com/2GEHrJv.jpg And now, doing some test fitments of some wheels to figure out how much to narrow the rear end and get the axles/running gear ordered. http://i.imgur.com/wAjbTG9.jpg I still have some fixed back Recaros to sell in order to get some new seats: http://i.imgur.com/NnbVhHe.jpg And I am currently awaiting on my new system from Speedtech to arrive to install in the rear end. http://i.imgur.com/GKZyOR2.jpg In terms of wheels, I am looking again at ordering another set of Forgelines through Deviate Motoring. Need some GA3C's in my life: http://www.forgeline.com/product_ima...image-1095.jpg Drive train is more than likely going to be a simple LS based system with a six speed. :secret: Goal is to have this thing going and ready by Power Tour 2016 :) I will continue to update this thread as more parts begin to arrive. And if I get bored, I still have my GF's car to work on... her 1968 Firebird :D http://i.imgur.com/pv4vGtR.jpg -Gray |

Sweet setup
Like the rolling stock!
|
thats the rear setup I want to go with on my 72.
|
Looks like a good starting point for a project. Why not stay with the mock up rims? They look great against that blue paint. Good luck making your goals!
|
They belong to someone else and they're 20s.
|
I like nova's!
|
Yea Novas are ok. Like a hot chicks, mediocre sister, that's not as good looking but down to party.
This thread needs some updates... |

And how she sits till I get the rest of the speed tech stuff hung up front and a motor between the rails.
http://i.imgur.com/0fJlbkFh.jpg GAP Racing did the Speedtech rear setup, stuffed in a new/narrowed 12 bolt with a true trac, and some other little things :) PS: Excuse the crap straps. Was caught in a bind and all I had in my truck. Luckily I only live 5 minutes from GAP. ;) |
Yeessssssss. Updates
