Big Red on NBCSN Tonight! NOW!
Hey all,
Just wanted to make a quick announcement that the show is on tonight at 9PM Eastern and 6 PM Pacific. Go set your DVRs or get your beverages and snacks right now and get to your TVs! NOW! ;) Find it on NBCSN. If necessary, this message can be removed later tonight. I didn't mean to clog up the forum with notices about Big Red. Here's a cool vintage shot of RJ next to Big Red back in the day! :) http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps9qpx9tnw.jpg Thanks a bunch! |

Awesome show!!!
2 Things that really blew my mind: 1 - That road is 90 miles long with no houses.. 2 - 11 Mile straight stretch at over 200 mph.. You guys rock!!!!! Look forward to episode 2!! |
Thoroughly enjoyed the show! Much better production than most car shows. It comes off as a documentary, not at all like a typical car show.
I will be very disappointed when the season is over & hope you make more of these. RJ, you are one bad hombre. Not sure how you get your cojones under the submarine strap! Bill |
Big Red is ingrained into me since I was 17 when it set the world on fire at Silver State. To this day the original car is still my favorite of all 69 Camaros.

Loved it!!!
The first time I saw Big Red in Hot Rod magazine I was hooked. Loved the fact that the "supercars" of the late 1980's had their doors blown off by a young racer in a bad ass 1969 Camaro with a crazy fast engine and the ability to use them as they were designed, to go wicked fast. Unlimited fast. Typical, they changed the rules of the race after RJ and Big Red embarrassed them.
I'm so amazed that a car that was a pathfinder of the sport known as "Pro Touring" is still spanking and putting the hurt on cars that have been give the title "supercars" 30 years later. RJ, you are the MAN!! Big Red, it is the MACHINE!! Race On!! Can't wait for next week's episode |
Great show. Very well done.
Long live BIG RED. :trophy-1302: |
Very well put together show. I really enjoyed it.
|
has this been posted on line yet? I don't get those channels for some reason.
|
Its channel 220 on direct tv. I set my dvr to record the series. The first time I saw a 69 Camaro, I wanted one. I remember reading about Big Red in high school. and wanting one even more.
All I have to say is running a 69 Camaro at 220 mph plus is just insane. RJ, the crew, and Big Red are just awesome. Can't wait for the next show. |
Very well done feature IMO.
FWIW - Seeing Big Red's performance in the '89 Silver State and all the well deserved hype that followed was what drove me to finally buy a '69 Camaro that year. The desire started in 1975 at high school when a friend bought a clean '69 Z/28. After about the third good ride in his car I wanted one bad, it didn't help that he was dating my next door neighbor when he first bought the car........the rest is history. |
I was able to finally watch the show after recording it on the DVR.
Great show and I'm already wanting more! I wasn't ready to stop watching. The show was definitely done the right way. Looking forward to the next episode! |
I really want to see it!
Is it hosted online for us 'cord cutters' to watch? |

The rumble strip makes quite a racket in the car at high speed. You want as little as possible, so staying centered was important when we could. |

Hope you enjoy all the episodes! |

Thanks for liking something that's not the typical junk you see that's called "reality TV." We hoped to break that mold. Maybe it's not as entertaining, but it's real. That was our end goal. Real. |

We hope to get it on BluRay or some other media so all people can enjoy it. We'll keep everyone posted. If you send us your email address to "Instagram @bigredcamaro.com" (without the space before the @), we have an email list that will keep fans posted to the upcoming events and special deals on merchandise. It will also get you special bonuses, like Big Red prizes. Right now we're giving away a free shirt to the 69th email to this address. :ups: |

Thanks for watching and for your kind words! It does get a little hairy at 220+ on the asphalt. Imagine what it's like on dirt and salt. ;) At least when we're on dirt and salt, we have the grille plugged to get some air around the car. Looks like you've got yourself your own nice '69 Camaro! Hope you like all the episodes. |

Thanks for having good taste in "real" TV. :) Glad that you and others here on Lateral-G have been loyal fans for so long and that Big Red is still in all your hearts. Sounds like you have had '69s in your life for a while. Seeing Big Red was probably just the cherry on top of the Camaro from '75. :relax: |

Thanks 98 RS, We would have made it 2 hours if we could have. Maybe some more footage will get added as a bonus if we're able to go through with releasing on BluRay. Hope you enjoy the following episodes. :) |

We hope to offer it on BluRay or some form online in the future. There's a lot that we have not tackled on that front yet. We have a long way to get to that point. Keep your ears and eyes open for news in the future. |

The same goes for you too. We hope to get something for you cord-cutters. We can't leave you all out!:D |

The more people who watch the show and DVR it, helps us get our numbers up. If it gets enough attention, we'll give it a shot at a second season. That submarine belt does bunch up a little. I think Joe Pettit (navigator in the Silver State Classic Challenges) has even bigger "ones," since he doesn't even have control of the car! ;) Thanks for enjoying our take on what real TV should be! I must have been living under a rock back in the late 80s as I missed the whole "Big Red" phenomenon back then.
I've followed Big Red along loosely in the past few years since becoming involved in this arena of cars and driving and I am really enjoying the way this show is put together reliving what had to have been an absolute blast for those involved with Big Red all along. Thank you so much for putting the work in back then that has allowed you to share your story with us now in a quality way. Can't wait for more episodes. |

I would imagine he likes extreme coaster rides as well, probably with his hands in the air! I won't even ride on the back of a tandem bicycle. Hats off to you both!! :king: Bill |

No doubt. Great show to watch, well produced imo.
I love seeing all the different phases/genres you guys have done... Glad to have you here too, love reading/hearing your feedback from your fans... My fave, (may have not been aired yet, hopefully it will) is when you guys went up against the new Z28. Good stuff, Mike |

Even if you're late to the Big Red party, we're just glad to have you on board. :) We really took a shot in the dark by trying to make a show that wasn't a typical "throw wrenches at each other" type of "Reality TV" show. We had no idea if it would be accepted by the audience. It seems to be working so far. Thanks for your support! |
