researching parts
 

So being my first time searching front suspension for 68 Mustang. What solutions are there?

Goal - autocross and sometimes track day car.

I know there's:
Maier's Mod1
Girggs Racing Front Suspension kit ($$$ damn)
TCI front suspension

what else? I understand that any upgrade I do is better than stock, but are there any experience with upgrading to that part?

I went with the Mike Maier Inc. uppers and JRI coil overs last year, everything else in the front was stock. It's unreal how it transformed the handling and feel of the car! My old 68 had the typical 620 springs and KYB's and compared to the 66, it was garbage.
I now have the CPP lower sub frame kit but haven't driven the car with it yet. I'd look at CPP and Opentracker if you want to keep the cost down and stay with coil springs. If you're set on coil overs I'd say Mike Maier Inc. is the way to go.

TCP makes really nice parts. I used them on my 67 Cougar.

Thanks for the DSE Aluma-Frame link I forgot about that one. I've done some forum search and couldn't find a good review on the product. Just pictures on users installation process.

Oh yes, I always hear how the MOD1 puts out positive results for owners.

Nice! are they competitive enough for Autocross? trackday? I do appreciate the fact that it gives larger engine bay

I really like TCI as a street setup, but for track and autocross, DSE is where I would put my money.

What are your goals for the front suspension? Auto x / road course / street cruiser?

I've personally gone with Mike M for my mustang but lots of good options out there.

The mustang 2 clips are good (tci / fatman ) etc but Arnt regarded as a road course / auto x suspension.

The dse front kit is beautiful but requires a lot more work

answered it in the original post, but auto cross and once in a while track day for the hell of it

I'd go Mike Maier then...he is much better at explaining the pros / cons of a mustang 2 clip vs the mod 1. I'd give him a call next week.

Ive seen the Maier stuff upclose and seen it run autocrosses.. thats some great stuff.. plus they are a bunch of nice folks..
