OUSCI Thunderhill

Just about a month away, I'm wondering who plans on showing up?

On the fence, my cars entered the jack stand class. Dunno if it'll be ready or not....bummed. And Vegas is two weeks before my sons wedding (which the reception is in our back yard)

Timing is everything....well see....

You Sir, and your grassroots driver, could motivate me to buy this just for the trip.

I've moved on to Pendelton...or Bird Dog Blueberry whiskey.
With the rolling tool box sold has a garage space been secured? Either way I'll be in the Baymont parking lot Friday night shootin the bull with whoever is around, last year was a blast and I'm sure this year will be even better.

Sieg, you shootin BW this year?

I sure enjoyed watching your videos and am looking forward to seeing the car run in person. A well built car that appears to run hard.

Oh man. As long as any shots captured have all four wheels on pavement I will be happy to be photographed. To be clear if I'm off pavement I want that photographed too but I reaaaaally don't want to do that :)

I try my best. My talent well is a whole lot shallower than the top drivers in GTV but I have too much fun beating on my car not to do this stuff!

Nice sequence of pics! I guess Kyle found the limit of that turn or made a mistake...

It was set up by debris on track from a previous spin. He wasn't sure how he managed to save it. At one point I saw the underside of the car from the rear, sadly that was in between frames.

glassman 01-27-2016 09:56 PM

I've been talking to wifey (and thats dangerous) and she's telling me "just take the Carrera". Dunno, that car scares me. Its wicked good, and its just the "S" model. I'd be sh__tin my pants in a GT3....

Member what dirty harry said, "a man has GOT to know his limitations,,,"

May do the C2S, but still, i'm hopin Josh will finish my wiring in the next week or two. I had all the dash and rest of the car done, alls he had to do was a couple of relay's under the dash and build a new computer engine harness.....going on three months now (since before SEMA). I love the dude and hes goiing through a hard time know, i'd rather have a friendship than an event....oh well...patience which i dont have, i'm learning....

Can't Wait!

That's Canon's newer EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, on the 7D mkII with it's crop sensor that 100-400 turns into 160-640 mm's of zoom zoom.

Between the auto focus abilities of the 7D mkII and the performance of this lens shooting on track should be very rewarding.

This is through the trees in moderate lighting with the focus locking on black subjects. I'm impressed and can't wait to get it to the track.

It's also sharp, bright, and colorful!

Optima

Sieg very nice setup

I am also on the fence. Working on
the bird but too far to go for this event
Ran it last year with the car not ready
Not doing that again

Thought about ordering up some bridgestones
for the front of the Pantera and stealing the Bfg's
off the back of the bird. But it is really my track
car even though it did better than the bird crossing
last year

Can I just run my Mustang at the track ? Won't qualify for competition.

They have exhibition class......though I'm guessing street legal is still a factored qualifier. Run the Porsche.

Jimi Day - [email protected]

Their websites appear to be down. They just posted the updated rules a few days ago, I quickly read through them but wasn't focused on exhibition, though it would be perfect for you.

Panteracer 01-29-2016 08:21 AM

Charlie,
There was a guy running a car with Dot road race tires
last year in what was called exhibition only... not sure
what Jimi what say about a full race car.. you may want to ask

I thought about doing the same with the Pantera as I am
a lot more confident with real tires vs the 200's

Don't you have some kind of world famous Camaro that's pretty much built for these events?

You really want to be embarrassed by having "street cars" run faster laps than your race car.....

rustomatic 01-31-2016 11:19 AM

I'll be up to watch and heckle. I think I only welded like one tube into my car last week . . .:bur2:

Ron Sutton 01-31-2016 02:30 PM

We'll be there displaying & helping out anyone that needs.

Ron Sutton

DEIGuy38 02-13-2016 10:29 PM

I'll be there as a spectator.

67XR7 02-14-2016 07:46 PM

Anyone going that has one junk 315/30/18 Falken RK or BFG Rival tire they were gonna throw away? i'm going to need one for mock up.

Sieg 02-24-2016 06:40 AM

Roll Call!

I'll be there with another borrowed camera and this lil sweetheart.

Sieg 02-24-2016 10:42 AM

Dude, nice ride!

I should probably throw my mountain bike in the truck. :sieg:

Chad-1stGen 02-24-2016 02:09 PM

I've got a lengthy to do list still and my new front tires haven't shown up, but come Friday I'm making the 8-9 hour drive to Thunderhill in the Camaro!

pro71bird 02-24-2016 06:29 PM

The Camaro is loaded up and I'm driving up Friday afternoon. Praying it doesn't rain. :bur2: Forecast I just looked at says 60% Saturday and 40% Sunday.

Ugh! Weather.com shows 70% Fri, 10% Sat and 30% Sunday. I'd much rather have it rain on Saturday in autocross rather than Sunday on the road course.

Here is what it looked like that last time I went to the track when the forecast showed 30% chance of rain...

pro71bird 02-24-2016 06:59 PM

Will they allow us to run in the rain?

glassman 02-24-2016 07:49 PM

I believe its rain or shine.

My cars not done :bang:

so i'm a gonna come up to observe and be jealous, on Saturday...

Ron Sutton 02-25-2016 08:19 AM

Hey Guys,

I'm no weather man, but all the racetrack operators I know trust Accuweather.com the most. Here is a link: http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/wil...t/332003?day=4

It says ...
Friday - Passing showers in the afternoon
Saturday - Partly Sunny - 15% chance of precipitation
Sunday - Mostly Cloudy - 25%

So I think we'll be fine & get in all the track time.

SEE YOU THERE !

efs69 02-25-2016 02:50 PM

I will see you guys there!

rustomatic 02-26-2016 11:05 AM

I'll be up on Saturday. Otherwise, what Ron said. Things look good for now, including the temperature. We're back in drought mode.
