'69 Camaro Temper 2.0
So my old build thread for this car I hosted all my pictures with Facebook and since they have changed some settings and all the picture links are dead. In the mean time I moved to Texas from Ohio and haven't made any real progress in the last year and a half as the car is still back home in Ohio. So I've been doing some parts collecting and changes in how I want to build the car since I can't work on it right now. The plan is to get the car down here in the next month or so and get to work on it. I'm not going to post all the old pictures from the build, but I'll hit on the highlights.
The updated build plan: LS7. Not sure on anything on it yet as I've just started collecting parts for it. 6-speed trains with cooler pump. Likely T56 magnum with the TR6060 pump Lateral dynamics 3-link Speedtech gen 1 subframe with ATS spindles C5Z abs and stabilatrac Forgeline wheels The GMR C6 hybrid rear hubs Vintage air Power windows Modern door latches with locks LED tail lamps with Marquez designs lenses Anvil carbon fiber front clip Infinity box wiring Speedhut gauges Dapper lighting headlamps With all that onto the pictures. It's gonna be awesome! Welcome to Texas..
Awesome fab work.do you have the center console for the interior? if not i have one.
Really neat build. Love the rendering. Good luck with the move and getting the car down there, too.
I love the rendering! This is great to see AJ ! Man those are some nice parts you've got there. I'll be in San Antonio for a few days in mid April. I would love to see the car.
Thanks guys.
Mike, I have a console, but thank you. Wayne, the car is still in Ohio. Hopefully I'll have it here before April so message me when you come down. |

I thought I would be the only one in SA with the new Z/28 theme on my car... You car is very nice, can't wait to see it!
Welcome to San Antonio
Thanks guys.
The new emblems are a nice touch to bring the car up to date to match all the modern stuff that's inside the car as well. |
Awesome AJ! So glad you're pushing forward on this car. In the early days your creativity inspired me on my build as well.
Love the look of the naca ducts too. |

They move a crazy amount of air when I put a fan at the front of the car blowing down the side. You could feel it coming out of the outlets more than you could feel the air movement down the side of the car. |
I love it when a plan works!
Damn. Engine set back 7"...
Nice fab work! That's going to be a killer looking car!
Thanks guys, getting a list of parts to get ordered this week for it.

I like the duct flowing into the rear gills. I have always thought there was some potential to do some inventive things. Just when you think you have seen everything that you can do to a 69, somebody steps up. You have some cool ideas and it looks like the talent to back it up.
Agree with others . Great fab skills, especially those cooler housings " may steal the idea "
Thanks guys. I hate when I see non functional stuff on cars so I'm pretty happy with my vents.
There is a lot of other good ideas I have for the car, but money and/or skill keep me from going doing more. |
Awesome build. You are doing some nice work there. I too did the wiper motor conversion under the fender. I have been having trouble with e transition arm. Any thoughts or advice on that? Any pics of what you pulled off?

Nice, my wipers on my 69 sound like a bucket of bolts rolling around.

Thanks. That's awesome.
Great fab work on the vents! Did you fab up the LED tail lights?

My car showed up last week and it was good to play with it a little after not seeing it in about 20 months. Started by bolting the trunk lid on to check figment. Not too bad but will need some metal work to fit like it should.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_40.jpeg As I sold the engine and transmission as soon as the car got here I got to work rough cutting the area for the LS7 oil tank http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_41.jpeg And since I'm going with a different transmission the trans mount had to go as well. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_37.jpeg Since all my fab tools aren't at work yet I started to make patterns for the fuel fill that I stole from ironworks and the diff cooler I stole from hellfire http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_39.jpeg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_38.jpeg To wrap things up on this update I bought a new toy to help build some higher quality parts with. The rest of the dies showed up after I took the picture so now I have a full rack http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8.../image_42.jpeg |
Aj this is some impressive work your doing , it's going to be over the top cool ..
Nice update AJ. Nice new toy too.
Thanks guys. Hopefully someday I'll be able to drive this thing.
