Anyone have any idea whats going on with Anvil Carbon
Hey guys I've been trying to email and call Anvil with no luck or response. Have they gone out of business?
|
I would hope not, they have a few grand of my money waiting on fenders.
|
Good Question??
|
they are normally on here. and I would call if you havent tried already.
|
same boat ordered a chevelle hood 4 months ago should have been in literally in a few days .... i even started a thread about this very topic and said to them lets prove everyone wrong that your previous issues were in the past
|
I placed an order a month ago and got my stuff. Their website showed it in stock.
Have you tried emailing Manal? Don |
I hope not I wanted some Mustang fastback shark vents!
|
I emailed Anvil Thursday and never heard back. Today I called and Manal answered the phone and told me the Camaro fenders are supposed to be done today and she would email the manufacturer to see when they would be shipped.
Tl;dr Still in business. Still have delays out of their control. |

Delays are "never out of their control"... a business should have INVENTORY... and they should have items IN STOCK when they say they're in stock. |

Is Anvil the only player in the game? As an outsider looking in, it seems like a great business if ran well.
I wonder if these guys could be persuaded to jump into the market? They obviously have the skill, the products are made locally (USA) and they're already in the high end market....I'm pretty sure they've got the connections. http://enlaes.com Maybe Anvil should be looking into options for making a quality controlled part locally, it seems the majority of the problems come from doing business oversees......What the hell do I know? Just my .02 :flag2: |

Alex (owner of Enlaes) and I have talked about "the market".... Here's a MAJOR difference between guys that hot rod BMW's and Mercedes and Audi's and guys building American iron..... They don't expect to buy cheap parts. They're willing to step up and pay 2 or 3 grand for a nicely built part... The American car market wants to "shop" and haggle - and try to find something cheaper. That's not a market he's willing to invest in. It costs 1,000's of dollars to build ONE mold... A manufacturer has to sell a bunch of parts just to recoup the costs of the mold, let alone make a profit. The Chinese guys that have approached him are willing to "eat" the cost of the molds - but then that means THEY own the mold - and they're going to get that cost back by cutting corners or charging more per part. Either way - you end up paying for it (the proverbial "there's no free lunch"). |

Not trying to change anyone's business plan it just seems Anvil could have a good thing going if they just got it....better. Like the investing thread, it's good to know, and learn, the business side of things. Even if it does derail a thread:sieg: |

Thanks Dan -- Me too! His parents bought his "partner" out.... So it's just Alex now. It's better. Partners usually suck. Silent partners are never silent. One side always feels they're doing all the work.... When you're a sole proprietor there's nobody to blame for anything. Poo or get off the pot! |

Good for him! It'll be interesting to see the growth without the "baggage" in the way. Now, if he'd just sell cheap c/f muscle car parts.....:hitaxeonthehead: |
There are other people in the game. but not at Anvil's price point.
|
Mike, price point and quality? Is there another company that makes an equal product in the same price range?
I know Maier (not Mike Maier Inc) makes mustang parts in fiberglass and C/F. I think the quality is good but would never buy from them because of the way business is conducted. Maybe it's changed since my last dealing but I'm a "one and done" kind of customer. Unlike others, it doesn't take much to not get my return business. |

There's one of two things going on either they are WAY swamped with work OR they have too much pride to admit that they're STILL having the exact same issues they were yrs ago . they're probably trying to save face and don't want to make the company look bad , yet here we are again and they STILL look bad again i very specifically told Manal id be posting this and i guess because im not the Brett from ride tech, Kyle from dse, or Mark Steilow i don't matter and non of us other little people matter , its funny how sometimes certain shops or people seem to get the parts they order right quick ....i ordered a hood 4.5 months ago i asked IF you aren't going to have it by x date please call or email me so i can be updated and kept in the loop well i've gotten nothing. i still would have kept my order with them and certainly wouldn't be upset . i'm upset because they cant even tell me anything and i don't believe it my job to go asking at least as of yet , going to see how long this takes maybe a couple more months ? last time i checked money is worth the same in my pocket or yours the only difference is how much we all have to play with . right now on a scale of 1-10 id give them a 5 and that is that high because 4.5 of that is the quality of the product , ill regrade them when this is all over
