Need help picking wheels
I have been trying to decide which wheels looks best on a 69 RS. I have been to all the websites and I have found several that I like but what looks good in the box might not necessarily look good on the car. I like the basic 5 star designe and was origionally thinking of going with the TT II's in 17x8 and 17x9.5 but everyone and their brother has them not to mention the crap fe130 would give me if I bought them. Anyway I would like to see some pics of your wheels and tires on a First gen Camaro. Any and all welcome. Thanks a bunch

I like the chrome.. do you have any pics of them on a car???
I have seen soooo many styles that I like but I am afraid to buy them and then put them on the car and hate them |
sorry but no pics of them on a camaro, i wish i could photoshop for ya but i can't. i doubt to many people have these wheels at 1300.00 a piece but hey they are forged and 3 piece.

1300 a wheel definately excludes me!! I was thinking more of 1300 a set
|
yea i wish they were that price too

$1300 a set will
narrow your search quite a bit as wheel prices are through the roof. The Junk Yard Dog style from Boyd Coddington or the Orisis would be my choice in that price range. Look in the projects section as someone just put a roll bar in a 69 convert and the Orisis are on that car.

Travis I got mine form Newstagia for $1800 wheels and tires mounted.

I'm a big fan of just about anything from Intro ( www.introwheels.com) and Bonspeed ( http://www.uswheel.com/bonspeed/set.htm ). Their prices are quite reasonable and they are great people to deal with.
If you're still having a tough time picking wheels and really need to see a bunch of wheels on the car, get someone to photoshop them onto a photo of your car. It sounds like you need to set a max price for the set (+tires and mounting), narrow down the choices to fit that criteria and then do the photoshop thing. Another word of advice, be prepared to spend a ton of time polishing wheels that are very "busy" looking or have rivets in the rim. The simpler the wheel design, the less time cleaning/polishing you will spend. I've used www.tirerack.com several times and had them sent to Intro to be mounted (the right way) and then shipped to me. Good luck! |
Well I absolutely refuse to spen my Sat polishing wheels so I will do either one of three things buy chrome wheels or have the wheels chromed or have the wheels clear ceramic coated so I will never have to worry about it. Thanks for the suggestions on wheels I did look at Intro and I think I like there matrix wheel and bonspeed also has some wheels I like. I might have to get someone to photo shop my car for me so that I can see what it would look like.
