My buddy has one on his 69. It works great, but it's mounted on the outside of the frame and looks odd. Not sure if you pick a different location or not, but it's something to consider.

I bought individual parts (as opposed to a kit) and got it put on about 2 months ago. Works like a champ, and I've got less than $50 in it.

What parts did you buy? Any installation pics? Any info would be appreciated.

Can you elaborate on your setup? Sounds interesting.

The part to build your own e-stopp is called a linear actuator with a 2"stroke. The one e-stopp uses has a 600lb pull rate I believe and the ones that can be found cheaper are about 250lb which I think would be plenty. They use them on handicap vehicles.

All the parts are sold on ebay including the wiring. You'll just have to build a box and run the cable/ set tension which you would have to do anyways with the e-stopp

I'm going to put one together myself as well and mount it in the trunk by the rear seat.
