The car looked clean on the outside but as many of you know once we looked at the car it was another story. The trunk was all rusted but I couldn't tell because someone had welded a new trunk over the rusted one. I really thought I had looked it all over :(

Spiffav8 10-04-2016 05:40 PM

None of them are perfect. Don't beat yourself up over it.

That green vert looks like Marks build. I think it was called ENVY. I'll have to see if I can find the build thread.

Looks like a great build sheet.

:captain:

D-$ 10-05-2016 09:02 AM

Thank you and I think your right ENVY sounds correct.

So needless to say we needed a new trunk. But we also found issues in several other places once we media blasted it. As a normal car lover and not someone in the business its crazy to how a car can look pretty decent with paint and body filler. But when you media blast it you see the floor, doors, trunk, area where the top goes down are just awful. So here are a few pics of some of the work.

So we need to do a full floor on the car but while its opened up we can work on tucking tires and fitting engine, and brakes on my new speedtech extreme sub-frame.

It sucks to find out what hidden mess lies beneath.........but putting all those parts on surely puts a smile on your face, nice getting back in the saddle again. Looking good!

Bonebuster29 10-06-2016 08:04 AM

that is a lot of HP for a convertible street car!!! Going to be fun :)

D-$ 10-06-2016 09:13 AM

Thank you all for the kind words. I am excited now that we are past the bad stuff. More pics to come.

DKz Garage 10-06-2016 09:28 AM

This is going to be sweet! A little rust never hurt anyone :) Looks like you have it under control.....

D-$ 10-06-2016 10:22 AM

Well my builder Mr Detailed is doing a great job for me.

Zoomin 10-06-2016 07:42 PM

We've certainly seen far worse cases of rot - looks like you're off to a great start.

Bozeforged 10-13-2016 12:32 PM

Boze rims have arrived :) I am very happy with them and with Zak @bozeforged.

Zoomin 11-30-2016 05:18 PM

Surely there's a 24 hr tire shop so you can get those bad boys mounted up! :flashie:

Centerforce 12-01-2016 06:48 PM

Those wheels are beautiful!! We have to see them on the car.

WSSix 12-01-2016 07:06 PM

Shiny! Good luck with the build.

waynieZ 12-01-2016 08:33 PM

Beautiful set of wheels! They'll look nice on there.

D-$ 12-02-2016 09:16 AM

Well UPS lost my fourth wheel so mounting them will hopefully come soon. Thank you for all the kind words on the rims. I couldn't be happier unless they were 100% free :)

Does it fit?

So lets vote does it fit? One of our recent concerns was will the SC fit under the traditional cowl hood.

Zoomin 02-27-2017 10:30 AM

Ooo that's close. How about your intake pipe?

D-$ 02-27-2017 10:58 AM

Well I don't have pictures of it after the hood was cut but yes it was getting us nervous.

waynieZ 02-27-2017 12:10 PM

I'd like to see pictures of it done if you have any you can post later. My LSA is hitting on the heat exchanger hose connection.

Are you using speedtech as well? I sure will grab a picture for you.
