This car was so incredible I couldn't get enough of it. The recreated an "R" version with all original parts. I took a ton of pics of this Grandfather, Father and Son project. What a great back story and I am happy he brought it to the show and they couldn't have been a nicer family.

Thanks for posting the pics. This was our 7th year of putting MCACN on. The first couple years it was a chore to get cars to commit to coming to the show but now everybody seems to get what it is all about. I think we have reached "critical mass" as in people really want to have their cars there. 500 of the best musclecars under one roof and the hotels are right across the street. Always the weekend before Thanksgiving and 5 minutes from Ohare airport. Hotel shuttle will bring you right there.

Your welcome and when Mike and I were walking around it was amazing to here how many people flew in from Out of Town just to be at this show.

Like Charley said there is so much you can do when your at this show and there is no reason not to bring the family as I don't think you could possible do all the things that are in walking distance from the hotel and the convention center. It truly has the best location of any show out there.

Okay, I almost forgot there is the Fashion Outlet Mall for your wife to go to while your at the car show. It might cost you a few dollars when she is shopping but trust me you will enjoy the show.

Great show as always, been taking the kids for the last 4 years and from what I understand free to those under age 25 starting next year to spread the hobby to our younger audience

Charlie
It was great to see you again. The best show of 1of1 cars ever. It is amazing seeing you out do your self every year. As Marty said there were more winged cars under one roof than I've ever seen. A couple years ago they had 20+ Boss 429 Mustangs in a row (one of every color made). Here's to next year.

The pictures do not do this car justice. It is one of the cleanest Shelbys out there.

Kevin Oeste and the V8 TV crew did a interview with Bobby Unser about this car and his racing career. Watch for it because Bobby is a treat to listen to. The Torino is simply amazing. Built by Holmann-Moody-Stroppe, Smokey Yunick built Boss 429. The engine has never been out of the car and it sounds badass. Bobby even had Goodyear mix walnut shells into the tire compound for added traction. I think the cost to build it came to 330K in 1969.

I went back to the very first post and updated it with a link to all of the past show so you can see how it's grown over the years. It truly is one of my favorite shows.

I am however missing my pictures from 2010 and I am hoping someone has them and would be willing to share a link.

Thanks for posting all of these pictures, Marty.

And thanks for putting on a great event, Charlie. I'm glad I could see all these pictures. I hope to make it there one day. Was the Shelby the only car you brought out? I loved watching you interview with Kevin a couple years ago concerning that 67? Camaro with the factory aluminum block.

I also had a barn find 64 Chrysler 300 there, black, red guts, 4 speed with window sticker.

Thanks for posting all the pics Marty, it was great to see you in Chicago. MCACN is hands-down my favorite car show anywhere. The Unser car is insane, and we're honored to have been able to spend a bunch of time with Bobby hearing the stories... we'll be sharing those soon. He's one of those All Americans who just knew how to win on the track and win in life.

Always great to see you Marty, looking forward to the next one! (Kelle says hello and was sorry she missed you, but she was putting head gaskets in the Duramax that weekend at the shop.)

Your welcome and one of these Days Mike & I are going to stop by your shop one one of our man Car Road trips.

Seriously, head gaskets on a Duramax. I 'm not even sure I I could lift the heads out of the engine bay.

ps Please tell her I said Hi.
