Too Much Lip...?

There is a such thing as going overboard...wouldn't y'all agree?

raustinss 01-30-2017 06:48 PM

Talk about a good way to ruin a amazing car .....somewhat easily fixed thou

NOVA 01-30-2017 06:54 PM

agreed...

Build-It-Break-it 01-30-2017 07:26 PM

Isn't that the pro touring look? :badidea: to each their own I guess.....

Grnova 01-31-2017 08:27 AM

reminds me of the Micro machines. Car looks good though!

Definitely not a bad looking car and true, it's an easy fix. For sure I've seen worst. Nothing that a wheel swap couldn't fix.

Ketzer 01-31-2017 10:29 AM

Never been a fan of the $100 bill laying in the lip, but it is hugely popular so what do I know...?

I also think 20s on the rear with rubber bands and 18s on the front looks awful... again, hugely popular so I must be completely clueless...

Blake Foster 01-31-2017 11:17 AM

Sure would not want to be the guy who had to mount those tires!!!
probably have to mount the rim halves into the tire and then bolt it together.

:bang:

Jeff, I have a 7" lip on my rear wheels and that's probably deeper than most would like, but I think you could lay a loaf of bread inside these wheels.

I assume these are reverse mount..have to put face of the wheel down on the wheels clamps though...that can pucker the old bum...one slip while clamped and game over...

I don't care for the look.

That's called pro-street. It's still a thing.

Meh, this would be quasi pro-street. :lmao::lol: :lmao:

minendrews68 02-01-2017 07:28 AM

I like the car, but don't like the wheels.. just my .02 worth.

ilikeike 02-01-2017 02:34 PM

Maybe it was already pro-street tubbed, then he decided to try the pro-tour look and take the MT wrinkle walls off.

Or he's from Oakland. Lots of cars like that there.:EmoteClueless:

ADY 02-01-2017 04:59 PM

They would need to have at least 28in rims to be considered a true Oakland 'whip' like this one: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Cd66Mx7m6NU/maxresdefault.jpg

PS: I live in Oakland and only have 18's on my '68, so I guess I don't have any street cred.

rustomatic 02-01-2017 07:25 PM

I thought calling it pro-street was enough of an insult. Now you guys are calling the poor car a donk. Street cred is so overrated . . .

Zoomin 02-01-2017 07:50 PM

If you want to get any attention with a 69 Camaro, sometimes requires extreme measures. Not my cup of tea, but I think it's nicely done.

slimjim 02-02-2017 12:32 AM

I still see cars frequently built like this in Australia, It's not my cup of tea but like everyone said, it's fixable. the dish is one thing, but the over-staggered appearance is what gets to me

TheJDMan 02-03-2017 07:05 PM

I would call that "Pro-Donk", or "Faux-Touring". To me, Pro-Touring is more about performance than bling. That car screams bling and I doubt it would handle or brake well. But to each his own.

Vegas69 02-03-2017 07:42 PM

There is only one opinion that matters, the guy that stroked the check. My opinion, ridiculous.
