Project 'INTENSE' 69 Camaro
Well for those of you that have been wondering where Steve and his bright blue 69' Camaro have been for the past 2 years of so, well here's what I've been up to ....
I wanted to take the car to the highest level I possibly could, and build the cleanest, most tasteful and the most detailed 69 camaro possible... within my limits of course, and then enter it into the 2017 Motorama car show here in Toronto as 1st time ever shown. So from the last version of my car the ONLY items that remained unchanged where the supercharged LS7 and the T56 Magnum transmission. This car has undergone a 2000+ hour restoration including the replacement of every panel on the car, a full new interior and a TON of small details that hopefully people (and the judges) would appreciate. In the end we did ok, we got into the Top 10 (Like the Detroit Great 8) and received the runner up in the best of the Pro-touring class. I want to extend a HUGE thank you to all the guys that came to the show this weekend just to see the car, some of you traveled quite a distance and I am honored that you guys came. Also want to recognize the following suppliers that came through for me in my time of GREAT need (like when we broke the front flush glass and needed a new one just 2 weeks ago !!) ... so BIG thanks to Roger at Speedtech for the Forgelines, Mike and Chris at Fesler for their big time help, the boys at Marquez Designs and to Anvil as well. Also cannot forget the recognize the boys at Nadeau's body shop that did the most incredible body and custom work, and put up with my OCD crap for the past 2 years .. Rob, Jeff and Jeff #2 ... awesome and I thank you. And finally one of the nicest and well recognized interior specialists in the GTA, Harold at New Image Customs ... you nailed it buddy !! Forgot Matt ... BEST exhaust guy around, this kid has serious skills (as you can see) Thank you all Sincerely Steve Heck From Toronto Canada 'eh' http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psi5wpipze.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...pslwykoarb.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psr5pzdiid.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps3mflucad.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psehxeowhd.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps1lmts3qt.jpg How could I forget this ... http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps3qurn7ck.jpg |

Thanks
Guys... HUGE thank you again to all the support and the fantastic feedback for a car that we worked so very hard on and are very proud of.
Now, as far as the build pics go hold tight, my life has been upside down for the last couple of weeks getting the car ready for the show and I kind of have to catch up on some actual work ... BTW ... the colour is BMW Mineral Grey Metallic Cheers Steve |

Here is a couple of pics to get you started ...
I really tried to ensure the smallest details were addressed like all matching satin black caps, satin black close out and matching washers. The titanium intake was polished with special compound (9 hours) and the Edelbrock covers had been stripped, sanded and re-coated http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps4ie0reto.jpg Bottom, coated in raptor liner, gas tank cut and polished, everything repainted gloss and satin, every bolt replaced as new. Exhaust system took 4 days, EVERY piece is a mirror image to the other side in both angle, size height etc ... Matt did a KILLER job ... then hand polished for 4 hours or so http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psu9gnebds.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psgigdnc06.jpg |
I opened this thread and my eyes nearly popped out of my head! Daaaanng!
Top of the line work! Would love to see the car in person. Hopefully you will post more pictures!! :king: |

I guess the keep it simple philosophy and let the quality of work speak for itself truly worked in this case. Rob, and everyone else again I thank you Mario (Doom) ... I've been sooooo admiring your car for the past year and hoping that mine even came close to yours in build quality Curtis, Wayne, 214Chevelle, 1badsc, Ryan ... thank you all Ryan, here you go buddy https://rockerswitchpros.com Cheers Steve |
Awesome work. Car looks simply amazing. Excellent job, you should be very proud.
|
Just so you'll know, I'm stealing that switch idea from you. Thanks!! But, my car won't be making any appearances anywhere, so it'll be all good.
