Syborg sighting

Check it out! I can't believe I came across Syborg like this. Look in the back ground of the pictures of this other really cool car. If this is all one person's collection, they've got good taste.

It's pretty cool to see it again. The new owner sent me a video of the truck after they got it back up and running.

It's a great looking truck. Always will be in my opinion. Just kind of funny to come across it in the background of an unrelated picture.

Thank you and I small part of me wished I still owned it. But I am happy it has a new home and I know the new owner will drive it at least a little bit.

Funny I just looked at the pictures I posted and I think I have the hood pin prop rod in my warehouse.

That's a dang good eye!

I see a red Syclone every day on my way to/from work. Always makes me think of this one, as it's the benchmark Syclone as far as I know.

Thank you and if the Red Syclone you see looks anything like this then it is one of the ten that Marlboro gave away back in the day.

ps this is the one I owned years ago and sold so I could finish Syborg.

Admittedly, I had to do a search to remind myself of the exact details of Syborg. I didn't remember the black on the hood. The pewter and red had me convinced it had to be Syborg before I started looking.

BaT has taught me to look in the background of pictures as there are collectors and consignment brokers selling some cool stuff on a fairly regular basis. The comments section is typically filled with rather knowledgeable people that also do the same thing. What I missed the first time going through the pictures was the 10th Anniversary Firehawk that's in the collection. That's the black and gold TA towards the back. A commenter caught it though. Fairly rare bird.

That funny I do the same thing when I look at pictures.

Mike & I flew in Friday night and headed over early on Saturday. It was cool seeing the truck again and when were looking at the truck we were talking with a potential bidder and he was the guy that won the Auction. Couldn't be happier and it's going to a great home where the truck will be enjoyed.

plus he is really a nice guy

I wondered what it was going to go for, my guess was going to be $70k-$80 just cause of the history. $40k seems like a fairly good deal for it, what did it sell for last time?

I agree with you on the 70 to 80 and what hurt the truck was the time slot there just wasn't anyone in the bidders area and it looked to be two guys bidding against each other. The Good News is the guy that bought it really a great guy and hopefully we will see it again and maybe I will actually gt a ride in it.

Marty did you prefer the truck as a manual or as a auto?

We built the truck as an automatic however I never really got to drive it as it was already sold before it was finished.

Looking back if I build another Sonoma GT it will be an LS with a Manual and be more Prot-Touring. However that is going to be a long time from now as I have 3 Cars & 1 Truck that I am currently playing with.
