So I just got this completed over the last several weeks, a little over 12 hours worth. I waited 2 years and 9 months. He is now 4 years out on his waiting list.

My daughter Kasey talked me into the first one 5 years ago, she is very Patriotic and couldn't figure out why I never had one while I was enlisted. It was a matter of not wanting someone to mess up my body with something that I would regret later in life was what I told her. We found someone I felt was good enough 40 + years after the fact andshe paid for the first one (EGA/Semper FI).

The Iwo Jima idea was what I wanted done this time, all the rest was the artists idea. It is a type of transparency that worked out well and I am very happy with. My wife that was less than thrilled that I went in for a second tattoo actually really likes this one. I am happy with both and at nearly 62 I am done.

I thought I would share, I know they are not for everyone...

Joe

Just OMG Joe!! What a work of art!!

You and I must be a lot alike.... my kids have a zillion random tattoos. At almost 65 years old -- I think -- well WTF? Why don't I get some bad ass hot rod tattoo.... like a sleeve of flames or something..

SW and I were going to get matching tattoos.... then they told me it could be bad for my liver.... so I said oh heck no! Not sure I really believe that. But haven't looked in to it either.

Like the others have said ----- Thanks for your service!

Wow!! That is really nicely done.

I waited until I was 30 to get my tattoo. I have no problem with them at all, but to me it has to be personal, and mean something before I would put it on my skin for life. I never really understood a friend of mine that would walk into a tattoo parlor and just randomly pick something on the wall because he thought it was cool. Years later he regretted some of them.

I want another one, but don't exactly know what I want, so I wait......

That'a adorable.

Seriously, I can see why there's a 4 year waiting list. That's some very high quality ink. Looks great!

I'm not, but that is one of the best tattoos I've seen.

Reminds me of a tattoo artist I met once. His business card said, "Not convenient, Not cheap". I wish I had that type of scarcity in my business!

It looks great Joe Amazing work.

Thanks Gents, I will pass on the kind words, I appreciate them too.

That's really amazing. I love it.

I was never in the service...but I wanted something patriotic as well. I also love those old-school/vintage style tattoo's. So I went with this one.

Horrible picture...in fact it's a picture of a picture. But you get the idea. Most people don't know I have a large back tattoo haha

WOW, that's killer Tim!

Thank You,

This is the best I could do for a LINK...

Jake Doyle is the artist that did it, although he is more than half my age he loves doing military art work.
