Tony,
What show will you be at? While you are looking at the car, will you check the upper and lower control arms, the size of the front brakes, front sway bar, and anything else you think is reportable. I'm dying to find out. Thanks |
Thanks for sharing.

congratulationsn Tyler, you guys are really making it, and you guys did it in a very respectable way. All you need now is a new division of your company of people testing stuff at the track or in parking lots. Only thing that no other company has right now.
as for the steilow-mobile, looks very nice and the LS7 is the best motor I could think of to put in a PT ride, however I am a little dissapointed, doesn't really look all that innovative, but I'm sure he has reasons for everything. Hard to top yourself after building something like the Mule. I guess a car that works well and is actually used is better than a one off showcase that never does anything |
One thing to remember is that not all these parts were not available when he built the mule. Is he going to keep this one or is Charlie going to end up owning it?
|
I know what you are saying regarding the Camaro X engine bay vs the Mule's engine bay. The Camaro X grew on me after looking at it for a while. I see it as how GM would do it if they offered an LS7 in factory trim. No extra beauty covers or billet bling, just pure function with full open road race capability.
I like that about Mark. He builds things with an engineering stand point, and it must function above all else. If it can be made to look good while doing so, then bonus. I can't wait to see what he does with it on the open track days. Tyler |
Tyler,
do you think that the price of the bilsteins will be close to the price of the qa1's? |
T, I sent you a PM with couple of questions, thanks Steve
|
Tyler, thanks for all the info, and as you know I can't wait to see the build pics! Is you splined front sway bar a direct bolt on?? And does it package well on a car that is lowered quite a bit...I don't have a lot of clearance with the Hotchkis bar frame mounts to the LCA...and that with me relocating the Zerk fittings.
Actually guys I can't wait to see the pics from this weekend too!! |
I got to see Camaro X up close at the Woodward cruise yesterday. Yet another beauty from Mark. This one is unique in that it has a certain understated feel to it. It's built in the spirit of The Mule, but it's also a different animal. The frame appears to be mostly stock with the expection of a custom modification Mark made to accomodate coilover springs (he did not use the DS&E conversion). The arms are DS&E but in the stock location. Although the LS7 is one bad mutherf**er...it's not an overly flashy engine. Mark pretty much left it stock in its configuration as well as it's appearance. And the interior is much like the Mules but with a different dash insert. As Scott put it, it looks like an engineer built the car. And it really does. This is just a simple, well thought out street machine. Beautiful, but nothing flashy. I loved it. I'll bet the thing is a frickin blast to drive.
Sorry...no pics. I'm sure someone will jump in here with some. |
