Breaking News from the Bonneville Salt Flats
Friday, August 18

This morning at 8:22 AM the "BLOWFISH" delivered the required second run to secure the world record for Blown Fuel Competition Coup, engine class F.

At 255.5 MPH, George Poteet drove the car just under 25 mph faster than the previous record, which has stood for 16 Years!

"This is only the beginning!" an ecstatic Troy stated..."there is a lot more where that came from. Now we have the data to fine tune both power and aerodynamics. "Rad Rides by Troy will definitely be back on the salt!"

Congratulations go out to George Poteet plus the whole Rad Rides by Troy Team for a well deserved WORLD RECORD!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Car - i was able to watch it from start to finish. I probably have a few hundred pics of his cars in various stages.

My truck should be there in Oct/Nov for Paint - can't wait.

Props to Rad Rides.. That is a huge statement what they accomplished. Whatever they embark on they always push the envelope and pull it off flawlessly. Whether it be a Street Rod, PT car, Drag Car , now a Salt Flat car. Just goes to show you just how good they are.

G-Body 08-21-2006 05:04 PM

I'd bet all the Money $$$ in the world this car will not be left in a hotel parking lot in a trailer, for someone too steal......

Damn True 08-21-2006 05:08 PM

Does this make the Blowfish the fastest musclecar in the world?

Good to see someone backing it up by taking the thing out and running it. Hopefully more builders and owners will follow suit.

I guess that would depend on your definition of "muscle car." And we know how sticky those subjects can be, ;) .

Fairly certain that the Nomad went back to it's owner. Maybe Kenny can answer this question

I read in the latest hot rod that it was supposed to do 300 mph, and apparantly Frieburger just did 260 in a second gen camaro with an all stock GM 572! wow

EDIT:
I hate to take away from Rad Rides accomplishment but here is Freiburgers, kinda seems more impressive?

Apples and oranges. Turbo 4 cylinder in Rad Ride's Blowfish. 572ci big block with 175hp worth of nitrous (for the 261mph run). Neither is more or less impressive IMO, definite props to both.
