2014. 11
The story starts here. On the way back to Hungary from Germany with the new project. Pretty ugly matte black exterior and interior with a factory 307 and automatic. I name it Frodo because of the overall poor condition. BUT it was love from the first sight. I knew this car will be very special here later on as I have the money to start. |
Congrats on your find.
Keep us posted on your progress. |

Frodo is getting better. I did not pay attention for the exterior this time but he got a lot of goodies. 6.0 GenIV block BTR stage II cam Ported/polished Ls3 heads Stainless works headers and turbo mufflers 6l90E transmission with 3000stall circle D converter Modified factory 10 bolt rear with 3.73 5th gen Camaro center consol (fully functional manual mode with paddle shifter) Evo Lancer Recaro seats Baer Pro+ 14" brake system front and rear Ridetech 4 link and coilovers front and rear Speedtech control arms and ATS spindles Forgeline Zx3R 18x9 + 18x10 wheels Dakota VHX instruments The car was pretty strong for the street ( around 500hp) and pulled crazy as the circle D 3000stall converter was installed. Driving in manual mode using paddle shifters are awesome. I did not need anything alse. However I lost turning radius which was a pretty bad thing and I started to hate by the time. The look of the car started to bothering me as well. |

2016.11- recently
I decided to start over again. But this time to have something really special. Something that can be a real eye catching. I know the Nova never be on that level where the 1st gen Camaros are staying now even if you spend hundreds of thousands but we can try. Right? So here we go. No rendering. No exact plan. We go as our hearts and taste dictates. We had some upgrade that we decided from the beginning. 1st: C6 Corvette chassis modified to fit under the Nova. No IRS this time that might be a future plan if necessary Using the same Ridetech shocks and 4 link Same Baer brake system 2st: Due to the wide C6 chassis compared to the original nova body it have to be widened as necessary I have a bunch of pics of the widening process but I put only the final result here. It was not easy and was expensive as hell till I got the body I wanted. It is not so brutal as I wanted to stay close to the original Nova look and wanted to stay legal on the street. Of course during this process we modified other areas as well. Like: Hood Front bumper Rear bumper Rear tail light panel Rear tubs |
The body is almost ready.
I want a small spoiler at the rear. That is all. I started to put together the interior and exterior in my head. I had so many ideas but now I am pretty sure I will go with the SCCA trans am look in a modern version and 70's Porsche interior design. |
Wow. Very cool
|
VERY cool! I am also partial to Novas.
|
i like what you did with the bumpers :thumbsup:
|
Thank you Guys! :)
Blake, We tried to make the car to look rounded just like the 1st gen Camaros and we wanted something different that we did not see before. |
Wow!! Looking pretty good if you ask me.
|
Wow this thing is awesome.. look forward to the updates from a fellow Hungarian Nova nut!

Just a little update.
This is the final shape for the front bumper. Changed for a smaller signal lights and added a frame around it. Little thing I know but it does give a little more extra appearance. The lens will be “smoked” clear lens as all of other side markers. |

A few steps ahead...
Now the car is ready to pay more attention for the interior and the extra details of the exterior. |
Oh my goodness.

|
Awesome work! I love it.

Very cool!

Thank you Guys!
The interior will be pretty simple no any custom dash pad work or door panels but we will use a very nice tartan fabric with perforated leather inserts to make it a little more exciting. We will keep the 5th gen camaro center console also but changed the modern recaros to the classic Lx type. |
I love the front bumper and splitter! Nice work!
|
Wow pictures look great!
|
That alot of work! Looks great!
|
What was the color you went with? You made the front spoiler right? I love it!

The color is a 69 factory GM color called burnished brown. It looks pretty dark brown in the shadow and very nice bronze under the sun. Pertty cool color. |
Such a sick nova!

Exhaust completed all the way to the tips.
The Stainless Works turbo mufflers were very loud so it got a pair of smaller Borla mufflers also. Now it is way more " street friendly" and got a deeper tone also. Now it is time for 3d designing some nice "nova specific" RS badges, wheel caps and rear spoiler while waiting on the interior to be ready. |
Very great job!!!!

To follow the 70's era style: |
Damn.... Killer Nova. Nice C6. And..... A lifted CC Square-body truck in Hungary. I like your taste!

These are the new emblems I designed. The big one does not really look as good as I assumed on the back side so I have to plan a little different way. But I will put a big RS emblem there that is for sure.
The frames for the louvers are ready as well. I dont know the color yet. Maybe satin black or body color. |
This thing’s a masterpiece. :brix:

I was pretty lucky today and got one 69 Camaro carbon fiber notch spoiler ( Anvil ) from Ebay.
That made my day. :ups: There will be some work with it to fit the Nova the way I want but definitely it will give the right look to the back I really miss now. Also I am still thinking on the decals and stripes. Any ideas? I really like the 67-68 Camaro bumblebee and the 69 DX1 stripe but that might look weird on a Nova since the front of the hood and the front fender is so different. |
