Sad day indeed.

I'd go out and do some donuts if the car wasn't on cribbing.

Stinks. Burt looked terrible last few years. I watch SATB every time it comes on, when I have time. It just never gets old. Jerry Reed and Burt were great together. He was truly a car guy. Gonna be missed.

They've been running the "Eastbound and Down" special on CMT, gives some interesting background on the movie and all involved....

He sure inspired a lot of late 2nd gen T/A owners to build a Bandit, huh Trey?

Same here Scott about watching SATB. Sure will be a different feel now though of course.

Jackie Gleason’s Buford T. Justice was my favorite part of that movie. :)

Burt's movie, "The Last Movie Star" (originally titled "Dog Years") is dedicated to the memory of a dear friend of mine, Hannah Eimers.

The movie is set (and filmed) in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. Hannah was an intern in the art department for the movie. Burt insisted she call him "Burt," and would frequently be heard saying, "Hannah, Hannah, Hannah." When Hannah would respond, "yes Burt?" he would reply, "nothing, I just like the sound of your name."

Hannah died in an car accident on 1 November 2016. We think she dozed off, but when her car struck the end of the guardrail, the device failed to collapse as it was supposed to, and instead speared her car, killing Hannah instantly. Hannah was 17 years old.
