Since I got sold out on the mustang, I got this..

Some of you guys already know I got this. It belonged to a good friend of mine. He called me up and said he needed some money for a big real estate deal and wanted to know if I wanted to buy it " for a while" 3-6 months. I said hell ya, I always wanted to own one. So here it is..

OMG :wow: That is my favorite Ferrari of all time!!!!! Way to go SW :hail: :hail:

JamesD 08-25-2006 06:24 PM

Very nice SW. Do you go to any car gatherings now that 1431 got shut down?

BC69 08-25-2006 06:54 PM

Nice addition to the Ferrari family of yours!

And I saw a Range Rover sport in the background. Supercharged version? I don't picture you with anything less! By far my favorite SUV.

Tim

ProdigyCustoms 08-25-2006 07:11 PM

Yup, I still hate you, LOL!

Steve1968LS2 08-25-2006 07:29 PM

My car spent time in his garage.. when she got to my garage she threw up.. lol

Sweet ride SW.. I'm sure we're all curious what a used F40 goes for these days. I imagine they hold value well given thier rarity...

Teetoe_Jones 08-25-2006 07:33 PM

Now I just want to kill myself. I'll never have 1/100th the car collection you do, and the worst part-
You are freaking nice as hell. It makes you hard to hate.

Tyler

PS- Burnout video? ;)

The F40 was twin turboed from the factory.

Ummgawa 08-25-2006 07:52 PM

Our blessed mother of acceleration...you suck man!!

Steve Chryssos 08-25-2006 08:05 PM

I have one too. I park it next to my Testarossa. And I have a spare race spec engine. Congrats on the purchase.

Very nice! Glad you could help a brother out and get something you always wanted at the same time!

And yes Tylers right, you are way too nice to hate!!

I returned your PM, BTW....

Stuart Adams 08-25-2006 09:22 PM

SW, very cool. Ford of Ferrari, duh, easy answer. Talk about an upgrade. See ya at SEMA.

Streetking 08-25-2006 09:56 PM

Thanks guys, it really is a kool car. Old school but wicked fast and classic styling. I'm glad I could help out a friend and have a kool car to drive for a while. I just hope he gets his deal done before they finish construction of my new office, I will need my money back for that!

They made these cars from '90-'92. This car is a '91 and has upgraded turbos, short gear set, bigger brakes and the "LM" rear wing. I am a little nervous driving this thing. I don't want anything to happen to it since it will be going back to my buddy. I know its definately cleaner now than when he had it. :D

Steve, used F40s go between 300k-400k depending on miles and condition.

Tyler, sorry no burnout Video on this one. :unibrow:

Tim, it is a Supercharge Rover, the wife's. Exhaust, air intake and chip..

James, they shut down 1431, now its off of hwy 79 at the HEB.

Steevo

I forgot you have a few Pocher Ferraris (now very rare). I also have the F40 and the Testarossa Spyder, I need to send you some pix.

Rybar 08-25-2006 11:06 PM

SW I thought they started building F40's in 1987?

Blown353 08-25-2006 11:31 PM

Very nice. Have fun!

Some of the best automotive fun I've ever had was behind the wheel of a friend's F-40. Great car to drive and can't argue with the looks! Only wish I had the opportunity to get some real track time in before he sold it.

Yup. Super rare, but a poor substitute for the real thing. Send those pix.

Colvindesign 08-26-2006 01:16 PM

wow,

Most of the upgraded versions were pushing out over 750 at the wheels and they are fairly light. With the upgraded turbos and exhaust work, that should be a monster to drive.

I think the exhaust tone from one of those is IMO one of the meanest sounding things on earth. I helped a friend take his 88 328 GTS to the dealer and was waiting inside when one pulled in the parking lot. Even with the indoor music, the doors closed and the people talking, I felt it in my chest before I even saw it, or heard it.

That, is a drivers car. No computer aids, just all mechanical.

Very sweet ride SK, a sound bite of it revving would be nice.

BTW, nice collection you have there. Can I live in your garage?

Rob07002 08-29-2006 11:05 AM

I putting myself up for adoption!

You have drip trays on the lift right? Please tell me you do

Gforce66 08-30-2006 02:27 PM

Very cool!! I saw an F-40 filling up at a gas station in Italy in June on when I was on my way to Maranello to go to the Ferrari Museum. It was the most beautiful sound my ears had ever heard (just as cool as a fighter jet in full afterburner!) The best part was the way the guy left the Station...FULL THROTTLE!!

Your floor looks sweet  is that just painted squares and waxed? Or did you color the concrete in the lighter squares?

Yes, there are drip trays, but Corvettes don't leak! :D

67rsconvert, the blk squares are stained, the lighter ones are just the natural concrete, then cleared..

thanks,

SW

67rsconvert 08-31-2006 09:45 PM

Great collection and floor looks great. Not disrespecting corvettes just have a deep reverence for the f40 and couldn't imagine putting any car above it :hail:

Rybar 08-31-2006 11:01 PM

SW I love your garage :hail: , it reminds me of that painting when I was a kid that all my buddies had with the 7-car garage with all the Ferrari's and Vettes and said something like "a car for each day of the week" or something. Man you gotta get some video footage of your collection in action.
