66 Buick Special
2 Attachment(s)
As if having my 70 camaro wasn’t enough, now I’m starting on my 66 Buick Special. Got all my control arms and springs done a week or so ago and slapped some 18” wheels on it. 18x9 in the rear with 275/40’s and 18x8 fronts with 255/40’s. This was a test fit for the wheel/tire combo just to get it off the jacks for a few days. Still trying to decide on sway bar choices and hoping to find a used set from someone who is updating. I kinda like this old beater!

Cool car, what is the plan for it?
You're like me and either need less / smaller vehicles or more garage space. I vote more garage space. |

I am partial to 70 Camaros. Any pics or threads floating around?

Had the old Buick out today for the first time in months. New suspension, wheels and tires really made a huge difference. Can’t wait to go further but today could only run it a short distance because there’s no dash in it. Nice to move forward with it!

Nobody makes a cluster for this thing so you have to find something that fits and work around it. Tested fit and function this evening. Going back in soon!

Dash looks fantastic! My first car was a '63 Skylark that I traded for my '66 Malibu in 1971 when I couldn't find a '66 Buick. I do love the detail of the Buick, but I've got what I've got. A co-worker's DIL has a '66 Skylark ( that's his in the will ) that's pretty much OE except for paint, brakes, wheels and overdrive A/T. We got him to modernize it a bit to make it better for the road trips he's making now that he's retired. Another buddy has Special's and Skylarks from '64 thru '70, including a '64 long roof. All with 455's with varying bits of TA Perf upgrades. The '64 wagon is patina'd OE inside and out with working orig A/C and has done Power Tour twice.
Gonna make this one nice, or...? |
