Meet Luna the Goldador

So, Pam and I lost our Macy in July, our beloved chocolate lab of 14 years. So, being dog lovers, we were "jonesin" for a new dog. Wifey wanted another English lab (our Tucker) and i wanted a golden retriever. We found a kinda new breed called a goldador, 1/2 English retriever 1/2 American golden lab

Meet Luna

Sweet pup.

Makes me want to get a dog again (dog lover here too), but my work schedule/travels makes it tough to have a dog.

What a sweetheart! How big is she expected to get? How cute they are at that age... I think they have to be so we don’t kill them!
How’s the house breaking going?
Any chewing destruction yet?

I ask because we got a new miniature Bull Terrier 2 weeks ago. Love her (Casey) to death, but she is also quite the handful. Two steps forward, 1 step back. Luckily my wife is extremely patient.

Here’s to 15 years of love and companionship!

Can we get an update on Luna, Mike?

glassman 04-11-2019 07:38 PM

She's a little over 5 months old now and simply brings joy to our hearts. I'm having a blast with her. She has us whipped. She's alowed in my Camaro, Carrera and our Macan. We took her to Tahoe last week, 2:45 in the car and never whined once or had to stop to go potty. As long as Pam and i are near her, shes uber content.
She sat in the snow, and was like "this is my new bed, go ahead and try to move me!"

I found that the older we get, the more patience we have. About three weeks of getting up in the middle of the night to "take her out"....And in Cali i still bitched about how cold it was (well, low thirties with just a robe on is still cold lol)...so the accidents have been very very few.
Pam has done alot of research on teething and biting. Were big on toys and distractions, so far no shoes or furniture fingers crossed...With our other three labs, we lost many upholstery...
I love dogs, more than furniture, we keep our sh.t nice, but, having boundries is a learned thing. i guess its like "choose your battles".....but yeh, being so stinking cute helps...

My wife has the patience of a saint (after 33 years with me). I realize it takes time. Potty training seems to be getting better day by day...as long as we know when to let her out. But the new issue is she seems dependant on one of us being home. She cries and howls like a coyote when we both leave. I put a webcam on her crate, and she cried, howled, and barked non-stop while we were gone for about 90 minutes. Kinda heartbreaking, but she has to learn. I don't know if our previous pups had this issue because we were both working and had no surveillance on them. Oh, and she will only go for a walk if we are both along. Otherwise, she refuses to leave the driveway.
I told the wife yesterday (joking) I wanted to return her & get a Lab.
