Mike's Custom Cars (South Carolina)

Just inquiring if anyone has dealt with Mike's Custom Cars in relation to purchasing products from him. I have made 3 calls to them and left 2 messages but cant seem to get a call back. I'm looking to purchase his preformed back seat, but a little concerned they may not be in operation anymore.
Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Mods if this is in the wrong category could you please relocate

Never understood what their deal is. Good products but no interest in selling them.

Yea its very puzzling, why even have your website up if you aren't taking orders. Guess I'll keep trying till I get frustrated enough and say scr_w it, sad thing is he has a really nice rear seat setup that will match my fronts really well.

BB, Check your PM.

Yes we are still open. We are back building race cars again mostly. But still working on Pro-touring cars from time to time. All of our Pro-touring parts are still available. Most of them are made to order. Some of them are in stock on the shelf.

If any of you guys out there tried to reach us. And didn’t get a reply back. I do apologize for that! Me and my wife have been trying to take care of my 93 year old grandparents. So it’s been a little challenging taking care of them and work..

If anybody can’t get a hold of us. Please try to send us a private message out here on lateral-g. And I’ll try to get back to you ASAP!!

Thanks,

Guys,
I know Mike personally, and he is a straight-up, solid dude. I have found the best way to quickly contact these guys is via PM, as they are usually too busy working to check the boards every day. The PM function will shoot them an email so that they know someone is trying to get in contact with them. Just my 2 cents....Probably doesn't work for MCI, though. :hairpullout:

Bad Bowtie 01-18-2019 09:33 AM

LonghornJPS,
I totally agree, I spoke with Mike on the phone yesterday for probably 1/2hr. Great guy and answered everything I needed to know about my order and more. Look forward to seeing the final product.

214Chevelle,

We’ve been around for 35+ years. We used to be the first or one of the first places out building first Gen Camaro bodies. We backed away from it for a few years. And moved back into building ProMod/Outlaw street cars again. Race cars was what most of our business was back when we started out..

Be happy to help you out, if we can...

Hi Mike,
I think its going to work out great, I mocked it up in the car and didn't see any obstacles. Going to bring over my upholstery guy so we can get some foam measurements for where the back and bottom meet and side clearances for the door panel area. Overall looking very good. The wife is happy and cant wait to see it in black leather, she said if you were here we could all have a :grouphug: lol

TTYL8R I've got work to do

214Chevy 04-02-2019 01:47 AM

Please post pics of the seat once it's upholstered and all. I'm interested in getting one myself if I don't do two buckets in the rear.

MCC 04-04-2019 12:06 PM

Good deal BB!
Most of the time you need around 2 inches of foam in between the upper and lower part of the seat frames. And around 1.5 to 2 inches of foam on the sides. Really all depends on if you’re going to use foam on the inside of the cover as well. Please feel free to reach out to me. If you need anymore assistance.

Anyone have any pics?

Also any feedback on MCC within the last 6 months?

Sorry, if I didn't respond, but I was considering the rear seat for a convertible option. I called MCC a few times and left a voicemail and never got a call back. According to this thread, he has good reviews but is hard to get a hold of. I mean, I'm sure that equates to him being busy, but that still does nothing for me as far as me trying to buy parts from him. So, I don't know...how do we get a hold of him. Also, it further substantiates if I need to get in touch with them after for customer service. Am I faced with the same dilemma? It's one thing to not be able to reach a business before spending your dollars. Afterwards...well, that's a whole 'nother ballgame.

214Chevy 01-22-2020 01:03 PM

Just updating this thread. I spoke to Mike at MCC today. We had a pretty good lengthy conversation about new products, etc that he has coming out. I won't get too much into his personal business, but he's recently had some life altering family issues that I'd like to assume any one of use would drop everything and take care of. So, he said he's back in the shop now, but it'll take him some time to get caught up. If anyone needs to get in contact with him, he said PM him and he'll try and get back with you a quick as he can because he's not on the forum everyday like others may be. He tries to get on here when he can and as much as he can. Just spreading the word...
