Ultimate Headers
Guys, I'm thinking about running Ultimate Headers on my supercharged LS7. Anyone ever use them? If so, what y'all think...pleased with them?

I have a set for a speedtech specific subframe. The quality is awesome. They don't hang low. The company is great to deal with.

That was one of my main concerns. That I didn’t want them to hang low. Jim, the owner, assured me they won’t hang low. He sent me these CAD drawings.
|
What subframe? They have a couple different part numbers.
|
Mark Stielow used the short version on JA 2.0 I think Hellfire too
|
I had Detroit speed subframe,Jim was a great guy to deal with. They just hung lower than the Hooker headers that I had on it and replaced with the Ultimate Headers.
|
Mike, I have a full chassis from Street Rod Garage. The same company that built my Chevelle chassis.
|
We've had them on several cars here and they've been great. They've been the most tightly built pieces I've seen, clearance is good, and I personally haven't seen any that hung down low. The set we just put on our 48 Hour Camaro is dang near flush with the factory subframe.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Just want to be sure. They're proud of them too...not cheap.
|
We use them a lot too.
Hooker long tubes LS swap $1060 Ultimate headers $1195 Not a huge price difference, really.. And Ultimate's are 321 grade SS and have ARP bolts. -Dale https://jubilee-live.flickr.com/6553...8c7fe4f9_c.jpg |

Mine were a lil bit more Dale. Don't know if y'all get a better rate being a shop. I also opted for the ceramic coating finish too. |

Nah just grabbed prices off the two websites. Yes ceramic is the pricey one and mirror polished! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I am very happy with my Ultimate Headers. I worked with Jim on my headers, I wanted them tucked up super tight. I have a LT4 in a DSE subframe using my own mount plates and the DSE LS motor mount towers.
Initially he sent them to me just tacked together. After shipping them back and forth a couple times I just broke the tacks and adjusted and re-tacked them myself. He then welded them up. I now have 1/2" clearance to the floor pans. I wouldn't go any closer so I have all the ground clearance I can get. All in all he was super accommodating and I now have an awesome set of headers! Jim @ Ultimate Headers really helped me out with my headers. Definitely recommend them. Here are the headers on my RS chassis.
|
I always wonder if it would be easier to nail the clearance and nearly as good power-wise to go with a mid-length? You guys are going to make nutty power either way...
|
We've used them and like the way they look, fit, and perform. Black ones on the LT4 Camaro project.

Is there room to route the spark plug wires under the headers? Header look like they hug the engine and space would be limited.

Small update...
I got my headers yesterday and they are bad a$$. Will post pics and of course start a build thread soon. Stay tuned. But, for others that are considering Ultimate Headers, I'm completely, 100% satisfied with the entire transaction. That's rare in today's business world. Jim was great from start to finish. They answered all of my questions, called me back when I called them and left a message, emailed me pics and PDF files for measurements, etc. The whole 9 yards!! I highly recommend them. |
