Continuing the reorganization that began earlier this year, with the focus of integrating the Motorsports Competition group within GM Engineering team, the Motorsports Competition group will be reorganized with two new leaders. These leaders will be responsible for leveraging GM's engineering resources to assist the race teams in creating winning strategies to continue our broad legacy of winning race programs.

Mark Stielow, currently Senior Manager, Virtual Development, xIL and Chassis Controls, will be promoted to the newly created role of Director, Motorsports Competition Engineering. Mark will report to Jim Hentschel in this new role. Mark will be responsible for overall engineering and technical direction for NHRA, Indy Car, IMSA and Motorsports Operations. Mark's extensive knowledge of performance integration, vehicle dynamics, along with his background in racing and performance vehicles will be integral in this new role.

The following individuals and teams will report to Mark.

Rob Buckner - Program Manager - IndyCar
Roger Allen - Program Manager - NHRA
Laura Klauser - Program Manager - IMSA Prototype
Walt Lerche - Motorsports Parts Operations Manager

Congrats mark well deserved I’m glad gm is still committing to a presence in motorsports as for a sec it didn’t look good - please just add a significant gm dmce surcharge to all of charleys build here on out. How did da mayor aka your dad take it? He must be proud

That's awesome, congrats! My son now 14yo started racing karts at age 7 and now races Spec Miata's leading the local Championship in points. Has his full SCCA competition racing license. You never know maybe our paths will cross in the pits in the next few years as we won't be staying in a Spec Miata for long. But glad to see continued investment in racing from GM with great people.
