1 Attachment(s)
I started this project about 2 years ago. I wanted a a low static ride height truck on 22's that would handle with big power.
My concept: 66 Chevy C10. I call it a Cgt. Attachment 73862 |

I got Dale Gerry to build a frame for me. I wanted a low static ride height on 22's
with big power. Dale built me a mostly complete frame that I modified here and there. 9 inch with 4 bar. C6 spindles 1 1/4" front sway bar, 1 1/8" rear Attachment 73866 Attachment 73865 |

Other than the frame work that Dale did for me I have done everything else. Finished the metalwork in the spring of last year.

Nice to have the frame rolling with LT4 8 speed auto. Went with 15" Wilwood brakes up front and 14" out back.

Well that looks like a lot of fun! Very nice build.

Can you explain the name? What does "Cgt" stand for...?

Been working on the details

I'm really digging this build. I was wondering on the thread title too. <akes sense. I'm glad to see you have the large rear window. Having the small one would of looked weird IMO Did you paint the frame of powder coat it?

The truck looks great. Love the color choices and I'm glad to see you're keeping a lot of the trim pieces. These earlier C10s have really grown on me lately. You're building it the same way I would. Good luck with it!

"GT" look. Radio is a stock unit, but I had it reworked to control the Audison amp/dsp which powers 2 10" subs, 2 6.5" mids and tweeters. Purists will scream when they see I have cut my virgin doors for speakers but with these trucks you don't have much room and I didn't want kick speakers. There will be grills that match the door panels so you won't actually see them. Modified Budnik wheel, Column shifter with paddles. A/C controls and glove box will be black. Is the blue a factory color? |

C10 GT = Cgt

Love the project, I knew you were in BC before looking at your location. Your house/property layout is what I wish Alberta had.

I put this on the EFI and super charger section but thought I would try here also. I am trying to build a custom air intake/airfilter but cannot meet the specs that GM lays out for the MAF location. They want straight 4" pipe 6"(min) long with the MAF in the center and 10" away from the throttle body. With my intake the most I could get is 2" before the MAF of straight pipe and 1" after, but packages very nicely. I am pretty close to 10" away from the throttle body. I could just pipe down the front of the engine and exceed their specs but it would not be as cool. How critical is it? Deal breaker?

It definitely needs at least the 6" of straight air BEFORE the MAF...not sure how critical it is after. Jeff- |

This truck is a thing of beauty. I love this model of truck. I had a 62 short bed, big window that I had planned to do. I ended up selling it and wish I hadn’t. Probably sold it because I actually prefer a 65-66 due to the a-pillar instead of the knee-knocker. LOL!!
