Jackass w/ LS9: original build and new Jackass 2.0 updates!

This is Charlie's new car that is being built in Detroit. It will have an LS9 engine and typical Pro-Touring treatment. Attached are some photos of the car at Autorama last year in bare metal. Reiter's Metal Craft in Mt. Clemens, MI did the metal and body work. It was awesome to see the car in 100% raw metal. I've used Reiter for 4 projects and I've always been happy with their work.

Joe Borschk did the cage and exhaust work at Katech. Joe is back in business for himself at Stenod Performance after being at Katech for awhile.

Over all, the car is turning out great. I'm managing the project for Charlie while I'm also working on my '69 Camaro.

Are those the new ZR-1 BREMBO calipers?? What color is it going to be?

Yes the brakes are Brembo ZR-1. They are very cool and work very well.

We are painting out some samples to sort out the color. The plan is to be in color by Jan 1.

Attached are a couple more photos including a LS9 intake mock up. It should all work well. We are finalizing the engine bay prior to paint. Ron Davis made a one off radiator for better cooling with integral oil and power steering coolers. The ICHE (Intercooler) is also upsized over the ZR-1 for better blower efficiency.

Joe does awesome work.

Can't wait a ride!

DOOM 11-28-2008 08:15 AM

Are these calipers available through GM parts already??

Aschle 11-28-2008 08:59 AM

That will be an amazing car when it's complete...it's amazing now...! I hope to one day have a car of that caliber.

Another cool build, what the target date of jack @#! car?
Sorry, I just have to say that.

XcYZ 11-28-2008 03:55 PM

I'm really interested in seeing what the LS9 can do with the wick turned up. It's amazing to think that the box stock LS9 makes 638hp AND maintains a 100,000 mile warranty while meets all emissions targets.

Van B 11-30-2008 01:27 PM

What goes in the boxes in the rear seat area?

clill 11-30-2008 02:11 PM

Whatever I can pack in there. No back seat, just a shelf to pile crap on and storage underneath. One thing learned on Power Tour is you always need something and there is never enough room in your trunk for all the crap that seems to show up.

70TWO NOVA 11-30-2008 02:45 PM

insane! cant wait to see it done.

WSSix 11-30-2008 04:04 PM

Are the boxed areas in the trunk for suspension, exhaust, or...? Those storage compartments look great.

The area in the trunk close to where the cage ties in is for added clearance for the exhaust around the DSE Quadra-link. Mark did the same thing in Camaro X.

trapin 11-30-2008 06:43 PM

Charley, you plannin' this one for Power Tour?

clill 11-30-2008 08:55 PM

Yes this should be on Power Tour in June.... Mule has done 4, Red Witch has done 3, Malitude has done part of 1, Camaro X has done 2...That is a big part of the fun with this stuff.

I don't know, Tony. You've seen how most of Jody's deadline projects go here. You may want someone else to help so at least ONE of your guy's cars can go....:P

awr68 11-30-2008 11:26 PM

No worries, Malitude will be finished first!

Now back to Jackass!!
